Stephen Collins Bezanson was born on 25 February 1883.2,3 He was baptized on 17 May 1908.4 He was a cooper in 1915.5 He married Winnifred Rafuse on 28 March 1916. He was 33.6 Stephen Collins Bezanson became a widower at age 46 upon the death of his wife Winnifred Rafuse on 18 May 1929 at Berwick, Nova Scotia.7,8 Stephen Collins Bezanson died on 15 February 1962 at Berwick, Nova Scotia, at age 78.5,6,9 His estate was probated at Kings County, Nova Scotia.9 He and Winnifred Rafuse are both buried at Berwick, Nova Scotia.4

The death of Stephen Collins Bezanson, aged 81, occurred Thursday, February 15, at Western Kings Memorial Hospital.
He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William (Collins) Bezanson, of The Forties, Lunenburg County, where he was born and received his early schooling. A cooper by trade, he moved to Berwick 45 years ago, where he has since resided.
He was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Murray Stephen, Berwick; and a daughter, (Pansy) Mrs. Wilton Newell, Nashwaaksis, New Brunswick; and seven grandchildren. His wife, Winnifred Rafuse Bezanson, predeceased him 33 years ago, also a son, Ray, 31 years ago.
Also surviving are seven sisters: (Olive) Mrs. Charles Kempton, Quincy, Mass; (Lois) Mrs. Edward Keddy; (Annie) Mrs. Carey Brown; (Ethel) Mrs. Roderick Hiltz, all of The Forties; (Ruby) Mrs. Clarence Keddy, Morden; (Flossie) Mrs. Ira Brown, Auburn; (Eva) Mrs. George Hubley, Barss Corner.
He was predeceased by two brothers, George of Berwick, and James of The Forties; also by four sisters, (Jennie) Mrs. Minard Hiltz; (Agnes) Mrs. Nathan Hiltz; (Hattie) Mrs. Amos Gates, all of The Forties; and (Lottie) Mrs. Myles Hawes, of Quincy, Mass.
Funeral services were held at H.C. Lindsay Funeral home, Berwick, Sunday afternoon, at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. J.D. Davison officiated.
Mrs. F.J. Baltzer sang"How Great Thou Art" and "Nearer, Still Nearer," accompanied by Mrs. Fred Simpson.
Pallbearers were George Langille, Ira Brown, Kenneth Aalders, George H. Griffiths, Harold Hiltz, and Lewis Pierce.
Burial in the family lot, Berwick Cemetery.

He was 33.3 Stephen Collins Bezanson and Winnifred Rafuse appeared on the census of 1921 at Berwick, Nova Scotia, with Ray Richmond Bezanson and Murray Stephen Bezanson.4 A quote from the "Glancing Over Nova Scotia" article in the Halifax Herald, 17 July 1923, may refer to her: "Mrs. Stephen Bezanson and children, are visiting friends in New Ross. He was 25.5,2 Jennie Clarissa Bezanson died on 19 April 1959.6 She was buried in Saint Augustine of Hippo Anglican Cemetery, Forties, Nova Scotia.7

Mrs. Edward J. (Loretta) Keddy, 94, of the Forties, died Wednesday, January 14, in the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.
Born at the Forties, she was the daughter of the late William and Julie (Collins) Bezanson. She was a faithful member of the Forties United Baptist Church. She was a charter and life member of the Forties Garden Club, where her interest will be greatly missed. She took an active parrt in community affairs. Her lovely quilts, rugs, and home knitting testifies to the deep interest she took in handcrafts. She was familiarly known as "Mum Keddy" to the whole community. In spite of a bad winter storm, the church was packed, testifying to the esteem in which this grand lady was held.
She is survived by three sons, George (Dick) and Douglas, both of the Forties; and Theodore (Bub), Truro; two daughters, Alberta (Mrs. George Rhodenizer, Lunenburg and Frances (Mrs. Hibbert Keddy), the Forties; two sisters, Mrs. Olive Kempton, Wollaston, Massachusetts; and Eva (Mrs. George Hubley), Mahone Bay; twenty grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward J; three sons, Seaward, Lloyd, and Gordon (Jack) and three daughters, Florence, Doris, and Rhena.
The body rested at the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, New Ross. Funeral service took place on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Forties United Baptist Church, Rev. Albert Marshall, Dr. Allen Gibson, and Rev. Gordon Neish officiating with burial in the Anglican Cemetery in the Forties. Her seven grandsons were pallbearers, the eighth one unable to get a flight out of British Columbia.7

Mrs. Ruby N. Keddy, wife of Clarence Keddy, Morden, passed away at Western Kings Memorial Hospital, Berwick, Monday evening, Nov. 1, following a brief illness.
Born in New Ross 78 years ago, she was the daughter of William and Julia Collins Bezanson. She attended school at New Ross and in 1909 married Clarence Keddy of Morden where they made their home.
She was a member of Christ Church, Morden, and the Women's Auxiliary of the church.
She is survived by her husband, three sons, Levi, Morden; Carl, Dartmouth; Harlan, Hamilton, Ont., three daughters, Lois (Mrs. Vernon Manson), Centreville; Mrs.Eileen Hines, Toronto; Mrs. Maxin Hudgins, Halifax; 19 grandchildren, 7 great-granchildren and four sisters, Lola (Mrs. Edward Keddy), New Ross; Annie (Mrs. Carey Brown), New Ross; Eva (Mrs. George Hubley), Blockhouse; Mrs. Olive Kempton, Quincy, Mass. She was predeceased by three brothers and six sisters.
Mrs. Keddy, who is resting at the H. C. Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick, will be taken to St. Mary's Anglican Church, Auburn, for funeral services Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
Rev. Denis J. Godley will officiate.
Internment will be in the church cemetery, Auburn.

Edward Keddy), Forties; Mrs. Eva Hubley, Mahome Bay, and Mrs. Olive Kempton, Quncy, Mass; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers and seven sisters.
