WEAVER, MARJORIE B. BERTRAND, age 100, formerly of Colonial Road, Bristol, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at St. Elizabeth's Manor, Bristol. She was the wife of the late James A. Bertrand and the late Clifford W. Weaver.
Born in Yonkers, NY and a resident of Bristol for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Frederick A. and Melissa (Bezanson) Weaver.
She was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1928. She worked as an office worker at the former Collins and Aikman Co., formerly in Bristol for many years before retiring. She loved playing spite and malice, crossword puzzles, reading, watching Animal Planet on television and trips to visit family in Nova Scotia. Mrs. Weaver will always be remembered by her smile, a funny giggle, a gracious manner and a great love of children.
She is survived by two daughters, Doris Ann deWolf and her husband, Francois of Bristol and Betty Jean Rene and her husband Ronald of Warren, six grandchildren, Rebecca, Roberta and Richard Rene, all of Boise, ID and Bradford and James deWolf, both of Bristol and Brian deWolf of Maine, eleven great grandchildren and two sisters, Evelyn Casteen and Gladys Vermette, both of Bristol. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Ernest Weaver and a sister, Elsie Detlef.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service, Friday, August 29, 2008 at 1:00 PM in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.5
