AIKEN, SC – WILLIAM ELMORE BEZANSON, 81, widow of Lilly H. Knowles Bezanson, died Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A native of Braintree, MA, Bill was a son of the late Alexander Caleb and Janet Geddes Bezanson. He grew up in the Braintree and Quincy, MA area. He worked as a quality assurance engineer, beginning with his father at Granite City Blacksmiths and later at General Dynamics and Stone & Webster Engineering. He moved to Aiken in 1990 from Massachusetts. He was a member of the Delta Masonic Lodge # 1847 in Braintree, MA.
Survivors include his daughter, Tyna Diggin (Matthew); his son, Mark William Bezanson, all of Aiken; grandchildren, Mark E. Bezanson, Andrew R. Bezanson (Heather), Shannon Diggin, Patrick Diggin (Amy J.), Matthew Diggin (Kristian), Rebecca Diggin (Dylan H.); great-grandchildren, Griffin Bezanson, Avery Bezanson, Keegan Molonich, Emma Lilly Bezanson; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Bezanson, Braintree, MA; brother-in-law, Peter R. Knowles (Elaine), Kingston, MA.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris Souza, Linda Steele, Jean DiBella and his brothers, Donnie Bezanson and George Bezanson.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, May 8th from 5 until 7 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral will be Wednesday morning, May 9th at 11 o’clock at the funeral home. Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery.2

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, in 1998; and a son, Robert.
Survivors include a son, Raymond Jr. of San Diego; four daughters, Deanna Ryan and Marjorie Peterson, both of Abilene, Phyllis Ryan of Longbeach, N.C., and Roberta Poor of San Anselmo, Calif; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
