Daniel Webster Hiltz was born on 6 October 1915.1 He was baptized on 10 September 1916.1 He appeared on the census of 1921 at New Ross, Nova Scotia, in the household of Minard St. Clair Hiltz and Jennie Clarissa Bezanson with Earl Spencer Hiltz, Stacey Byron Hiltz, Harry Edgar Hiltz, Stella May Hiltz, Nellie Marie Hiltz and Hattie Irene Hiltz.2 Daniel Webster Hiltz married Mary Murphy.3 Daniel Webster Hiltz died on 12 April 1995 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, at age 79.3 He was buried on 18 April 1995 in Saint Augustine of Hippo Anglican Cemetery, Forties, Nova Scotia.3

Born in New Ross, he was a son of the late Minard and Jennie (Bezanson) Hiltz. He owned and operated a lumber business for many years until retirement.
Surviving are sons, Sidney, The Forties; Danny, New Ross; brother, Minard (Bud), New Ross; sister, Rosalie (Mrs. James Forsythe), Coldbrook; four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Murphy; brothers, Harry, Spencer, Stacey, Stanley; sisters, Stella, Nellie, Hattie; a grandchild.
Memorial service 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Augustine Anglican Church, The Forties, Rev. Gordon Neish officiating. Burial in St. Augustine Anglican Church cemetery.3

FORSYTH, Rosalie Alma - The family of Rosalie Alma Forsyth, 83, Coldbrook, are sad to announce her passing very peacefully in Grand View Manor, Berwick, on April 1, 2007.
Born in The Forties, Lunenburg Co., on August 17, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Minard and Jennie (Bezanson) Hiltz. "Family, friends, cooking and hard work was the foundation of her life." She was a mother and grandmother to many for 55 years. She worked beside her husband, Jim, on the "Forsyth Homestead". She was a long-time supporter of the Women's Institute and a proud member of St. James Anglican Church, Kentville.
Rose is survived by her son, Brian Douglas (Stephanie) Forsyth, Coldbrook, and special granddaughters, Alexa and Tiffany. She is also survived by her brother, Minard (Ida) Hiltz, New Ross.
She was predeceased by her husband, James; sisters, Hattie, Nellie, and Stella; brothers, Stacey, Spencer, Harry, and Dan.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Wednesday in Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook.
