Of Berwick, Kings Co. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Vivian Bernice Bezanson, age 98, in Grand View Manor, Berwick on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
Born on February 1, 1921, Vivian spent her childhood in Kempt, Queens Co., with her parents, Ralph and Alberta (Earley) Ringer and brothers, Charles and Brenton (all now deceased). Upon moving to Berwick to pursue a career in hairdressing, she met her future husband Gerald Bezanson. Vivian was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a talented quilter who took immense joy in gifting her beautiful work to family members and community fundraisers. An avid curler, Vivian proudly represented Nova Scotia at the 1973 Senior Women's National Championship in Ottawa, an experience that earned her and her teammates induction into the Berwick Sports Hall of Fame. She also served for a brief period on the Board of the Kings County Hospital (Waterville).
Vivian is survived by Gerald, her husband of 74 years; her sons, Greg (Pat), Peter (Patricia) and Danny (Sandy); her grandchildren, Shona Bezanson (Patient Beya), Graeme (Alice) Bezanson, Andy (Christianne) Bezanson, Jaime (Gabriel) Sanchez, Troy (Robin) Bezanson and Chad Bezanson; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Norah, Lauren, Ella, Ethan, Imani, Etienne, Pascale and Emile.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A funeral service followed by a reception will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, February 18th in Berwick Baptist Church, 265 Commercial St., Berwick. Rev. Evan Colford and Rev. Sarah Scott officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, Middleton.1

He is survived by sons, Lawrence, Wolfville; Bernard and wife Ina, Greenwich; Wilbert, Halifax; George and wife Linda, New Minas; daughters, Marie (Mrs. Dick Weir), Black River; Maude Lahey, Holliston, Mass; 14 grandchildren; several great-grand-children, stepdaughters, stepsons, nieces and nephews.
