     Laura Minnie Bezanson was born on 26 November 1931.1 She married Gordon Best.2 Laura Minnie Bezanson married Clarence Cecil Bennett.2 Laura Minnie Bezanson married Gerald Davidson in 1975.2 Laura Minnie Bezanson and Gerald Davidson were divorced.3 Laura Minnie Bezanson died on 16 March 2007 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, Nova Scotia, at age 75.2 She was buried on 20 March 2007 in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Nova Scotia.2

Laura Minnie Bezanson – 75, of New Minas, passed away Friday, March 16, 2007 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.

Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Winnifred (Fraser) Bezanson. In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed for a period of time at the former Palmeter’s Country Home, Kentville (now Evergreen Home for Special Care). Laura was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch 6, Kentville. She loved Blue Grass and Country music and enjoyed knitting and cooking.

She is survived by five daughters, Patsy Keating, Coldbrook; Georgina Bennett, Ontario; Kathy Bennett (Ronald Beach), Coldbrook; Koreen (George) Butler, Kentville; Karen (Russell) Spencer, New Minas; four sons, Michael (Linda) Bezanson, New Brunswick; Weldon (Betty) Best, Coldbrook; David (Carol) Best, Gold River; Gerald Davidson Jr. (Melissa Bennett), New Minas; two sisters, Margaret Graves (Archie Brown), New Minas; Doreen (Derrick) Chase, Berwick; five brothers, Donald (Maxine), Gordon and Robert (Debbie), all of Kentville; Bernie (Sheila), Lawrencetown; Doug (Rose), Waterville; her former husband, Gerald Davidson, Ontario; 28 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon Best and her second husband, Clarence Bennett and; a son, Gordon Bezanson; two brothers, George and Wade Bezanson.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2007 with a Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary service to be held at 7:00 p.m. in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2007, also in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Majors Bond and Marina Jennings officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County.2

Donald Roy Bezanson - 82, of Kentville, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.

Born in Hortonville, he was a son of the late George and Winnie (Fraser) Bezanson. He owned and operated Bezanson's Esso and later owned and operated Don's Taxi for 25 years. He enjoyed working in his garage doing mechanic and body work.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine (Phinney); five daughters, Doris Morine, Kentville; Jane (Bob) Hember, Sarnia, ON; Helen Morrison (Bill), Kentville; Anna Bezanson (Lawrence), Canning; Denise MacRae, Hopewell; four sons, Darrell "Butch" (Cindy), Kentville; Jim, Halifax; John, Kentville; Patrick (Anita), Kentville; a sister, Doreen Chase, Kentville; two brothers, Robert (Debbie), Kentville; Doug (Rose), Waterville; 20 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Graves and Laura Davidson; five brothers, George, Goldburn, Gordon, Wayne and Wade; two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2015 in the Salvation Army Kentville Community Church, Kentville, Majors Marshall and Pat Phinney officiating. A private family burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses for their care, kindness and compassion.2

     Grace Virginia Sherriffs was born on 26 July 1939 at Lake George, Nova Scotia.1 She married Donald LeRoy Bezanson.2 Grace Virginia Sherriffs and Donald LeRoy Bezanson were divorced.2 Grace Virginia Sherriffs died on 26 April 2024 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, Nova Scotia, at age 84.1

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Grace Virginia Sherriffs, age 84 of Kentville on April 26 2024. Grace passed away in the Valley Regional Hospital, with her family by her side. Born July 26, 1939, in Lake George; she was the daughter of the late John D. and Helen V. (Welton) Sherriffs.

Grace was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed baking and going for walks. Grace relished in her time spent playing cards with her best friend, Thelma and spending time with her family. Grace also worked in the kitchen at Camp Aldershot for over ten years.
 
"We were blessed to have you as our mother and grandmother, your beautiful soul will remain in our hearts forever."
 
Grace is survived by her children, Doris Morine, Coldbrook; Jane (Bob) Hember, Ontario; Helen Morrison, Kentville; Jim Bezanson, Halifax; John Bezanson, Kentville; and Anna (Lawrence) Bezanson, Canning; Brother, Jimmy Sherriffs, Berwick; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Grace was predeceased by brothers, George, and Frank; grandson, Richard Hember; granddaughter, Olivia Bezanson; and good friend, Thelma Huntley.

The family would like to thank Grace’s grandson Cory for his endless devotion and loving care of his grandmother.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Coldbrook, NS.1

Gordon Karl Bezanson lived in Kentville, Nova Scotia, in November 1997.3 He died on 22 June 2011 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, Nova Scotia. He was buried in Newport Landing Cemetery, Newport Landing, Nova Scotia.4

Gordon Karl Bezanson, CD - 77, of Kentville, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.

Born in Hortonville, he was a son of the late Roy and Winnie (Fraser) Bezanson. He served for 14 years with the Royal Canadian Dragoons, retiring as a Corporal. He loved riding his Harley and was best known as Midget Mafia and Papa Smurf. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Snack Shack.

He is survived by four daughters, Yvonne, Halifax; Elizabeth (Neil), Fredericton; Jackie, Kentville; Tammie, Kentville; six sons, Darrell "Butch" (Cindy), Kentville; Robert (Annette), Halifax; Larry Richard (Delores), Halifax; Darren (Claudette), Halifax; Larry Gordon (Jodi), Windsor; Daniel (Sam), Windsor; two sisters, Margaret Graves, New Minas; Doreen Bezanson, New Minas; four brothers, Donald (Maxine), Kentville; Robert (Debbie), Berwick; Goldburn (Sheila), Kentville; Doug (Rose), Berwick; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; extended family members, Peter, Shirley, Correna and Brycie Mapplebeck and Ann Skaling.

He was predeceased by his wife, Judith Ruth "Judie" (Knowles) Bezanson; a sister, Laura Davidson; three brothers, George, Wayne and Wade.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2011 and from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. There will be no funeral service, by request. A private family committal service will take place in the Newport Landing Cemetery, Hants County, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating.4
