Born in New Chester, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Judson and Sarah (Frost) Bezanson. He drove a freight truck from Halifax to Liscomb for many years and was a school bus driver with Guysborough County School Board for 16 years, from where he retired. He was a lifelong member of St. Barnabas Church, Ecum Secum.
Surviving are his wife, the former Anna Maude Salter; son, Herman, Ecum Secum; brothers, Clarence, Frederick, New Chester; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Jessie; brother, Charles.
Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Ecum Secum Funeral Home. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Barnabas Church, Ecum Secum, Rev. Gavin Dunbar officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery.2

He was predeceased by a sister, Jessie Siteman.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. today in St. John's Anglican Church, Necum Teuch, Rev. Gavin Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in parish cemetery.4

Age 87 of Halifax, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Ecum Secum on August 28, 1930, he was a son of the late Roy and Katherine (Feltmate) Fancy and the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Elmer went to work at a very young age in a sawmill, moved to Halifax where he was employed at Maritime Steel, Halifax Metal Workers and Merit Industries for approximately 35 years as well as being a member of Ironworkers Local 752. Elmer loved to dance, go fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. He was a proud and faithful member of St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church, Halifax. He will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by his wife of 58 years, Lillian 'Helen' (Bezanson).
Besides his wife, he is survived by his brother-in-law, Michael Bezanson (Lisa White), Halifax; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Cecil, Joseph (Lola), Gordon (Jean); sisters, Helen, Eileen Fleet (Milford) and half-brother, George.
He was a kind and generous man who will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure to know him.
Visitation will be held 2-4, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21st in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22nd in St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church, 3751 Robie St., Halifax.5
