BEZANSON, George Herman - 87, Ecum Secum, died June 10, 1995, at home.

Born in New Chester, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Judson and Sarah (Frost) Bezanson. He drove a freight truck from Halifax to Liscomb for many years and was a school bus driver with Guysborough County School Board for 16 years, from where he retired. He was a lifelong member of St. Barnabas Church, Ecum Secum.

Surviving are his wife, the former Anna Maude Salter; son, Herman, Ecum Secum; brothers, Clarence, Frederick, New Chester; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Jessie; brother, Charles.

Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Ecum Secum Funeral Home. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Barnabas Church, Ecum Secum, Rev. Gavin Dunbar officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery.²

BEZANSON, Charles Albert - 83, New Chester, Guysborough County, died August 6, 1993, in the Halifax Infirmary.

Born in New Chester, he was a son of the late Judson and Sarah (Frost) Bezanson. He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Necum Teuch, Halifax County.

He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Pye; two sons, Frank, Victor, both of Lower Sackville; daughter, Margaret (Mrs. John Archibald), New Glasgow; six grandchildren; three brothers, Clarence, Fred, both of New Chester; George, Ecum Secum.

He was predeceased by a sister, Jessie Siteman.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. today in St. John's Anglican Church, Necum Teuch, Rev. Gavin Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in parish cemetery.⁴

BEZANSON, Dorothy Pearl - 73, New Chester, Guysborough Co., died November 24, 1995, in the Halifax Infirmary.

Born in Ecum Secum, she was the youngest daughter of the late Arch and Margaret (Jewers) Pye. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church. She was a recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of her many years of active involvement in church and community affairs.

Surviving are sons, Frank and wife Barbara, Victor and wife Judy, Lower Sackville; daughter, Margaret (Mrs. John Archibald), New Glasgow; grandchildren, Angela (Mrs. Ed Malone), Craig, Lisa, Michael, Trevor, Krista; sister, Patricia Blamire, Calgary; 13 nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, brothers, Frank, Percy.

Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4 p.m. Sunday, prayers 8:30 p.m. tonight, all in Crowell's Funeral Home, Sheet Harbour. Cremation to follow. Funeral 2 p.m. Monday in St. John's Church, Necum Teuch, Rev. Gavin Dunbar officiating.³

SITEMAN, Clyde Henry - 83, East Petpeswick, died November 20, 1992, in Camp Hill Medical Centre.

Born in Ship Harbour, Halifax County, he was a son of the late Angus Henry and Annie M. (Ferguson) Siteman. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by two daughters, Sarah, Saskatoon, Sask; Lynda Hanshaw, Caledonia, Queens County; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Jennie Webber; first wife, the former Jessie Bezanson; three sisters, Enid, Iva, Hazel; brother, Aubrey.

The body is in Rowlings Funeral Home, Musquodoboit Harbour. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Ship Harbour, Rev. Baxter officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery.²

Ecum Secum Bridge - Funeral for Laura Florence Barnard, 77, who died Monday, was held Wednesday in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Ecum Secum West, Rev. Peter Young officating.

Born in East Chester, Guysborough County, she was a daughter of the late James and Frances (Fleet) Bezanson.

She was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church and the Church Guild, Ecum Secum West, and a member of St. James Guild, New Chester.

She is survived by seven daughters, Effie (Mrs. B. Giffin), Halifax; Vera (Mrs. D. Dixon), Dartmouth; Geraldine, Halifax; Phyllis (Mrs. R. Prudhomme), Port Alberni, B.C; Edythe, Halifax; Dixie (Mrs. E. Dupon), Chatsworth, Ont; Melda, Saint John; two sons, James, Ecum Secum West; Steven, Halifax; two stepdaughters, Rubie (Mrs. C. Jewers), Ecum Secum West; Anita (Mrs. E. Pye), Halifax; a stepson, Owen, Ecum Secum West; three brothers, Alec, Halifax; Erbie, West Quoddy; Weldon, Glace Bay; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Henry S., two daughters, a son, a sister, two brothers, two stepsons and two grandchildren.

Burial was in the church cemetery.³

Ecum Secum Bridge - Henry Samuel Bernard, 85, of Ecum Secum Bridge died Saturday at Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Born in Secum Secum Bridge, he was a son of the late Samuel and Emma Bernard. He was a member of IOOF Lodge, Mosher River for 52 years.

He is survived by his wife, Flora; three sons, Owen and James, both of Ecum Secum; Steven, Halifax; nine daughters, Ruby (Mrs. Charles Jewers) Ecum Secum; Anita (Mrs. Eric Pye) Halifax; Effie (Mrs. Bert Giffin) Halifax; Vera (Mrs. David Dickson) Dartmouth; Geraldine, Halifax; Phyllis (Mrs. Ron Prudomme) Kars, Ont; Edythe, Halifax; Dixie (Mrs. Edward Dupon) Chatsworth, Ont; Melda, Ecum Secum and a sister, Greta (Mrs. Noble Pye) Ecum Secum.

He was predeceased by three sons and two daughters.

The body is at Veinott's Funeral Home, Ecum Secum. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Saint Paul's Anglican Church, Ecum Secum Bridge. Burial will be in the church cemetery.³

Age 87 of Halifax, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Ecum Secum on August 28, 1930, he was a son of the late Roy and Katherine (Feltmate) Fancy and the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Elmer went to work at a very young age in a sawmill, moved to Halifax where he was employed at Maritime Steel, Halifax Metal Workers and Merit Industries for approximately 35 years as well as being a member of Ironworkers Local 752. Elmer loved to dance, go fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. He was a proud and faithful member of St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church, Halifax. He will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by his wife of 58 years, Lillian 'Helen' (Bezanson).

Besides his wife, he is survived by his brother-in-law, Michael Bezanson (Lisa White), Halifax; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Cecil, Joseph (Lola), Gordon (Jean); sisters, Helen, Eileen Fleet (Milford) and half-brother, George.

He was a kind and generous man who will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure to know him.

Visitation will be held 2-4, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21st in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22nd in St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church, 3751 Robie St., Halifax.⁵
