Death Notice from The Ottawa Journal (Ottawa, Ontario), 9 April 1973:
Sadie Melvin Bezanson was described as the inspiration for the life of her grandchild Joy Winnifred Cavanaugh in the latter's death notice in South Shore Now (Bridgewater, Nova Scotia) on 28 June 2011.11
From Bezansons from Nova Scotia: "Two daughters by Malay, others by Paige. The age given in the record of her first marriage seems to indicate that Sarah (vi) and Sadie (vii) are in fact the same person (i.e. [Sadie] is 18 yrs old in 1907) (Also possible that Sarah d. in infancy, D.E.E.)1"
The 1891 census entry for Enos and Margaret includes Sarah, age 1. The 1901 entry includes Sarah, age 10. Given the census evidence, and the birth register entry, I believe there was only one child, not two as listed in Bezansons from Nova Scotia. Dorothy Evans thought the same thing, but still included both Sarah (vi) and Sadie Melvin (vii) in the list of Enos and Margaret's children.3,12
