LANDRY (Umlah), Melda Caroline - 101, Windsor, Hants Co., formerly of Hantsport, passed away Friday, September 19, 2003, in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor.

Born in Falmouth, Hants Co., she was a daughter of the late Christian Umlah and Alma (Bezanson) Umlah Lunn.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander Landry; brothers, Lewis Lunn, Budd Lunn, and Raymond Lunn; sisters, Edna (Umlah) Lantz, Lalliah (Umlah) Bezanson, and Edith Lunn Harnish.

She is survived by daughter, Melda Caroline Anderson Cavanaugh, Kingston; son, Dennis E. Wile, Clarkson, Ga; sisters, Clara Lunn, Billtown; Ida Lunn Harvey, Halifax; brother, Joseph Lunn, Parrsboro; grandchildren, James Ferguson, Wolfville; Lynn Wright, Mantua; Charles Dennis Wile, Nashville, Tenn; Geoffrey Wile, Clarkson, Ga; seven great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. John Bartol officiating. Burial to follow in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.¹

LUNN, Lewis I. "Dad" - 79, Pepperell, Mass., died Monday, December 3, 2001, in Massachusetts.

Born in Falmouth, Hants Co., April 18, 1922, he was a son of the late Anthony and Alma (Bezanson) Lunn. He spent his early life in Nova Scotia and had been a resident of Pepperell since 1967. A self-employed carpenter all of his life, he was also an avid guitar player and would be accompanied by his wife who is an accomplished fiddler. They also both enjoyed step dancing. In addition, he had a great love of gardening and farming.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary (Thompson) Lunn, Pepperell, Mass; sons, Lewis L. and wife Joyce Lunn, Cyril Lunn and Dale Lunn, all of Pepperell, Mass; Laurie and wife Susan Lunn, Kentville; Danny Lunn, Ontario; David and wife Angel Lunn, Fryeburg, Me; daughters, Juanita and husband John Sarao, Hollis, N.H; Myrna and husband James Gheen, Manassas, Va; Lorraine and husband Jack Hendry, Lake Placid, Fla; Esther and husband Tony Kalkman, Kentville; 28 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Melda Alexander, Edith Harnish, Clara Lunn, Ida Harvey, all of Nova Scotia; brother, Joseph, Nova Scotia.

He was predeceased by sons, Murray and Gary Lunn.

Visitation will be 12 noon until the time of funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, December 10, in W.C. Hiltz Funeral Parlour, Kentville. Burial will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings Co.²

Parrsboro - Budd S. Lunn, 61, of Parrsboro, died Tuesday in Parrsboro. Born in Falmouth, Hants County, he was a son of the late Shaw and Alma (Bezanson) Lunn.

He was a farmer and was also an employee of the Department of Highways.

He is survived by a daughter, JoAnne (Mrs. James Allen), Fox River; one grandchild; six sisters, Melda (Mrs. Alexander Landry), Hantsport; Edna (Mrs. Edward Lantz), Mount Denison; Laliah (Mrs. Gerald Bezanson), Windsor; Ruth (Mrs. James Harnish), Timberlea; Clara, Kentville; and Ida (Mrs. Roland Harvey), Halifax; three brothers, Joseph, New Cannon; Lewis, Pepperville, Mass; and Raymond, Spokane, Wash.

The body is at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.³

MT. DENSON - Mrs. Edward. A. Lantz, 73, of Mount Denson, Hants County, died Monday at home.

Born in Upper Falmouth, she was the former Edna Maude Umlah, the daughter of the late Christopher and Alma (Bezanson) Umlah. She was an adherent of the Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Elva (Mrs. Walter Nickel), Everett, Washington, Bertha (Mrs. Claude Barker), Mount Denson; Dorothy (Mrs. Reginald McCoombs), Dartmouth; two sisters, Mrs Melda Landry, Hantsport; Lalliah (Mrs. Gerald Bezanson), Windsor; three half-sisters, Edith (Mrs. James Harnish), Timberlea; Clara Lunn, Lakeville; Ida (Mrs. Roland Harvey), Halifax; two half-brothers, Joseph, Parrsboro; Lewis, Massachusetts; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward, one son, Frederick and two half-brothers.

The body is at the R. D Lindsay Funeral Home, Windsor, where funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m., Rev. Gordon Gower officiating. Interment will be in Riverbank cemetery, Hantsport.⁵

HARNISH, Edythe Ruth — 87, Halifax, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2001, in Armview Estates, Halifax. Born in Falmouth, she was a daughter of the late Shaw and Alma (Bezanson) Lunn.

Surviving are daughter, Elsie (Dr. J. Stuart) Soeldner, Sacramento, Calif; brother, Joseph, New Canaan; sisters, Melda Landry, Windsor; Clara Lunn, Centreville; Ida Harvey, Halifax: grandchildren, Beth, Judi; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Harnish; brothers, Lewis, Budd, Raymond; sisters, Edna Lantz, Lallain Bezanson; grandson, Stephen.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax. Memorial service and burial at a later date.⁴

MUMFORD, Gladys Theresa - 83, Windsor Elms, passed away Friday, March 3, 2000, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.

Born June 25, 1916, in Upper Vaughan, Hants Co., she was a daughter of the late Horace and Beulah (Bezanson) O'Leary. She was a member of Christ Church (Anglican), Windsor. Before moving into the Windsor Elms, she was a resident of Grey Street, Windsor for many years.

She is survived by her former husband, Norman Mumford, Windsor Elms; daughter, Emily Hines (Bob), Brooklyn; sons, Reginald (Laura), Three Mile Plains; Ormal (Pauline), Westphal; James (Betty), Stanley; grandchildren, Terry Mumford, Mark (Dawn) Mumford, Jill Coldwell, Sandra Mumford, Sharon Mumford, Cathy (Paul) Robichaud, Rick Hines, Timmy Hines, Sherri (Craig) Greenough, Cindy MacLeod (Darryl Hyson), Heather Hines-Clarke (Steve), Natalie and Jennifer Mumford; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Elva Newcombe, Windsor; brother, Victor "Vic" (Lola) O'Leary, Martock; sister-in-law, Dorothy O'Leary, St. Croix; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sister, Daisy Coldwell; brother, Foster O'Leary; brother-in-law, Raymond Newcombe; granddaughter-in-law, Patti Mumford.

Visitation will be today from 2-4, 7-9 p.m., funeral 2 p.m. Monday, both in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, Rev. David Curry officiating. Burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Reception to follow interment in Lindsay's Family Reception Center.¹
