BEZANSON Alice Mae Frances (MacKenzie) Bezanson, Aug. 12, 2007, of Middleboro, age 99 years, wife of the late Henry A. Bezanson, who predeceased her on Aug. 3, 1985; sister of Pearl Burns; aunt of John Galligan. A prayer service to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held at the Egger Funeral Home, 61 Pearl St., Middleboro, at 1 p.m. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 2 p.m.¹

BEZANSON, Gerald William - 80, Windsor, died April 10, 1995, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.

Born in Windsor, he was a son of the late Arthur and Alah (Benedict) Bezanson. He was formerly employed as custodian at Windsor Regional High School, for over 13 years. He had previously worked at the Colonial Fertilizer Co., Windsor for over 30 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Louise (Mrs. Joseph Skidmore), Lower Sackville; sons, David, Andrew, Vancouver; brother, Donald, New Glasgow; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a nephew.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Lalliah Bernice Umlah; son, Wayne; sisters, Vivian Arroyo, Helen Boates, Viola Kilcup; brothers, Raymond, Henry, Noble, Charles.

Visitation 7-9 p.m. tonight, funeral 2 p.m. Thursday, both in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home and chapel, Rev. Ron Baxter officiating. Private family burial in Centre Falmouth Cemetery.⁶

BEZANSON, Lalliah Bernice -- 82, Nesbitt St., Windsor, died Friday in Hants Community Hospital. Born in Upper Falmouth, Hants County, she was a daughter of the late Christopher and Alma (Lunn) Umlah.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald William; a daughter, Louise (Mrs. Joseph Skidmore), Lower Sackville; two sons, David, Andrew, both of Vancouver; a sister, Melda (Mrs. Alexander Landry), Hantsport; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Wayne; a sister, Edna Lantz.

The body is in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, after 2 p.m. today, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Richard Robb officiating. Burial will be in Centre Falmouth Cemetery.¹

BEZANSON, Donald Owen - New Glasgow, died November 2, 2002, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

Born in Windsor, he was a son of the late Arthur and Alah (Benedict) Bezanson.

Surviving are his wife, Deanna Joan (Finley); son, Mark (Bev); stepdaughter, Cindy (Jeff) Dixon; special sister, Myrna; several nieces, nephews.

He was predeceased by first wife, Elizabeth Ida (Cameron); infant son, Michael; sisters, Vivian, Helen, Viola; brothers, Charles, Gerald, Henry, Nobel, Raymond.

Cremation has taken place. No visitation. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service 2 p.m. today in Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell, Rev. Jim Webber-Cook officiating.⁴

Elizabeth (Bessie) Bezanson, Springville, Pictou County, died Monday, May 2 in Colchester Hospital, Truro.

Born in Hopewell, she was a daughter of the late William and Edith (LeBuss) Cameron. She was a resident of Springville for the past 20 years. She was a member of Bridgeville United Church and the UCW.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; a son, Mark, Alberta; a brother, Alex, Hopewell; four sisters, Edna (Mrs Frank Meikle), Thorburn; Flora (Mrs Thomas MacLean) and Elsie Cameron, both of Hopewell; Alta (Mrs William Holmes), Boston, Mass.

She was predeceased by a son, Michael. Funeral service was held Wednesday, May 4 from Bridgeville United Church, with burial in Foxbrook Cemetery.¹

BEZANSON, Dorothy Jean - 83, Halifax, died May 10, 1998, in Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, Halifax.

Born November 14, 1914, in Aylesford, she was a daughter of the late John and Annie (Holland) MacIntyre. She was a graduate of Maritime Business College, Halifax. She was a founding member of Kearney Lake United Church, where she was organist for over 25 years. She was an honorary life member of the Womens Progressive Conservative Association.

Surviving are son, Terry, Windsor; daughters, Patsy (Mrs. Don Dunnington), Linda (Mrs. Rob Fisher), Halifax; Jean (Mrs. Ray Russell), Langdale, B.C; brother, William, New Minas; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Lewis; sisters, Margaret McIntyre, Katherine Morris.

Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 3 p.m. Wednesday, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, Rev. Dale Chisholm officiating. Burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville.¹

Although O'Vedia ("Veda") was born and raised in Omaha, after she married Burton C. she had to become naturalized to regain her rights as a citizen of the U.S.A. In the height of World War I it was declared that all citizens married to "foreigners" automatically lost the citizenship. O'Vedia Djureen married a Canadian -- Burton C. -- so had to start her married life in her birthplace -- as an immigrant. Stan B. 4/26/91.¹
