TATTRIE, Freeman B. - 88, passed away March 23, 1998, in QEII Health Sciences Centre.
Born in Londonderry, Colchester Co., he was a son of the late Edward and Bessie (Walsh) Tattrie. Having served overseas during the Second World War with the RRC in Holland, France and Belgium, he was an employee of Simpsons-Sears and Sears for 40 years. Throughout his life, he maintained an active involvement in professional and community activities including Boy Scouts, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Knights of Columbus (4th degree), St. Mary's Lawn Bowling Club, St. Agnes Church Parish Council, lay distributor and Sears Retiree Committee.
Surviving are his wife, Anne (Currie) Tattrie; daughters, Mary Lou Clarke (Robert), Patricia Cable (Philip); stepsons, Thomas Currie (Linda), Joseph Currie (Joan), John Currie (Carolyn) and Peter Currie (Pauline); six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; nephew, Rev. Jack Tattrie; nieces, Marjorie Ferguson and Barbara Zwicker.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean (Kemp); son, Terrance.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, March 24, and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, in Snow's Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax. Funeral will be at St. Agnes Church on Thursday, March 26, at 10 a.m. Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.1
