     Margaret Fayette Gates was born on 5 May 1888.¹ Siblings Amos, Josephine, Margaret and Reta Gates all married members of the Bezanson family. Margaret Fayette Gates married Milford Gordon Bezanson on 3 December 1914 at New Ross, Nova Scotia. She was 26. He was 30.¹ Milford Gordon Bezanson and Margaret Fayette Gates appeared on the census of 1921 at Marriott's Cove, Nova Scotia, with Foster Gordon Bezanson and Myrtle Eula Gates Bezanson.² A quote from the "Glancing Over Nova Scotia" article in the Halifax Herald, 8 November 1921, mentions sisters Rita and Margaret, "Miss Rita Gates is making a visit with her sister Mrs. Milford Bezanson at Chester Basin."³ A quote from the "Glancing Over Nova Scotia" article in the Halifax Herald, 24 May 1922, "New Ross, May 22 – Willard Gates, on Wednesday, drove to Chester Basin and will visit his daughter, Mrs. Bezanson."⁴ Margaret Fayette Gates became a widow at age 72 upon the death of her husband Milford Gordon Bezanson on 28 December 1960 at Halifax, Nova Scotia.^5,1 Margaret Fayette Gates married Peter Budge.¹ Margaret Fayette Gates died on 3 August 1979 at age 91.¹

     William Bezanson was born on 11 March 1887.^2,3 He married Letha Counteway in 1913.⁴ William Bezanson died on 7 January 1929 at Middle River, Nova Scotia, at age 41.^5,6

     Letha Counteway was also known as Aletha Counteway. She was born in 1892.¹ She married William Bezanson in 1913.¹ Letha Counteway died in 1963.¹

     Raymond Edward Bezanson was born on 28 December 1896.^3,4 He was drafted into the Canadian Expeditionary Force on 13 July 1918 at Aldershot, Nova Scotia. He was described as 5ft 11½in tall with blue eyes and dark brown hair.¹ He married Ellen (?).⁵ Raymond Edward Bezanson died in 1935 at New York.³ He was buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Chester Basin, Nova Scotia^🌏.³

     Howard Eston Bezanson was born in November 1901 at Chester Basin, Nova Scotia.^1,2 He was a cooper and a farmer.² He married Irene Agnes Dixon.² Howard Eston Bezanson was the informant listed on the death certificate of Avernia Croft who died 23 February 1928.^3,4 Reverend Edwin Nelson Bezanson cared for his uncle Howard Eston Bezanson. He died on 23 February 1998 at Armview Estates, Halifax, Nova Scotia, at age 96.² He was buried on 3 March 1998 in Lakeview Cemetery, Chester Basin, Nova Scotia^🌏.⁵

     Irene Agnes Dixon was born circa 1901.¹ She married Howard Eston Bezanson.² Irene Agnes Dixon died on 11 January 1985.¹

     Eliza Bezanson was born in 1854.¹ She appeared on the census of 1871 at Chester, Nova Scotia, in the household of Isaiah Bezanson and Catherine Backman with George William Bezanson, Ephriam Alexander Bezanson, David Mathias Bezanson, Thomas Warden Bezanson, Caroline Victoria Bezanson, James Edward Bezanson, Nelson Alleyburton Bezanson, Nathaniel Hibbert Bezanson and Cornelius Foster Bezanson.²

     Nathaniel Hibbert Bezanson was born on 5 March 1856 at Middle River, Chester Basin, Nova Scotia.^2,3,4 He married Amanda Demille on 1 January 1882 at Chester Basin, Nova Scotia. He was 25.^5,6 Nathaniel Hibbert Bezanson was a carpenter.⁶ He became a widower upon the death of his wife Amanda Demille before 26 February 1894.⁷ Nathaniel Hibbert Bezanson married Eva Eisenhauer on 26 February 1894 at Chester, Nova Scotia. He was 37. She was 23.^7,6 Nathaniel Hibbert Bezanson died on 31 May 1945 at Marriott's Cove, Nova Scotia, at age 89.^8,9

     Dorothy Evans in Bezansons from Nova Scotia included both Ingerson F. Bezanson and "Fred Bezanson" in the list of children of Nathaniel Hibbert Bezanson and Amanda Demille. I am convinced that Ingerson F. Bezanson went by multiple names, and that Ingerson and Fred were the same person.⁶

     Amanda Demille was born in 1861.² She married Nathaniel Hibbert Bezanson on 1 January 1882 at Chester Basin, Nova Scotia. He was 25.^3,4 Nathaniel Hibbert Bezanson and Amanda Demille appeared on the census of 1891 at Chester, Nova Scotia, with Melbourne Wesley Bezanson, Henry Cornelius Bezanson, Seymour Nathan Bezanson and Ingerson F. Bezanson.⁵ Amanda Demille died before 26 February 1894 when her husband Nathaniel Hibbert Bezanson was described as a widower when he remarried.⁶

     Dorothy Evans in Bezansons from Nova Scotia included both Ingerson F. Bezanson and "Fred Bezanson" in the list of children of Nathaniel Hibbert Bezanson and Amanda Demille. I am convinced that Ingerson F. Bezanson went by multiple names, and that Ingerson and Fred were the same person.⁴

     Eva Eisenhauer was born on 15 April 1870 at Middle River, Chester Basin, Nova Scotia.^1,2 She married Nathaniel Hibbert Bezanson on 26 February 1894 at Chester, Nova Scotia. She was 23. He was 37.^3,4 Eva Eisenhauer died on 30 March 1963 at Halifax, Nova Scotia, at age 92. The informant on her death certificate was Paul Hibbert Bezanson.^5,6,7

     Cornelius Foster Bezanson was born in 1858.¹ He appeared on the census of 1871 at Chester, Nova Scotia, in the household of Isaiah Bezanson and Catherine Backman with George William Bezanson, Ephriam Alexander Bezanson, David Mathias Bezanson, Thomas Warden Bezanson, Caroline Victoria Bezanson, James Edward Bezanson, Nelson Alleyburton Bezanson, Nathaniel Hibbert Bezanson and Eliza Bezanson.² Cornelius Foster Bezanson died in 1887.¹ He Never married.

     Mary Elizabeth Bezanson was born on 24 June 1810 at Chester, Nova Scotia.^1,2 She married Neal McMullen Smith on 11 November 1828 at Cornwallis Twp., Nova Scotia. She was 18.³ Mary Elizabeth Bezanson died on 12 July 1893 at age 83.^1,4 She was buried in Upper Canard Burying Ground, Cornwallis, Nova Scotia.⁴

     Letitia Alice Smith was born in 1832.¹ She married John Campbell. Letitia Alice Smith died in 1916.¹

     Deliverance Bezanson was born on 1 December 1811 at Chester, Nova Scotia.^1,2 She married Peter Maryatt on 6 May 1834. She was 22. The ceremony was performed by Reverend Joseph Dimock.^1,3 Deliverance Bezanson died in 1899 at Ardoise, Nova Scotia.¹
     From Dorothy Evans: "Died at the home of her son Albert, Ardoise, N.S., Deliverance, Relict of the late Peter Marriette, in her 87th year."¹

     Joseph Marriott was born in 1852.¹ He died in 1866.¹

     Hannah Sophia Bezanson was born on 17 May 1813 at Chester, Nova Scotia.^2,3 She married Edmund Hiltz on 20 December 1838 at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Chester, Nova Scotia. She was 25. He was 24.^2,4,5 Mary Ann Hiltz may have been the daughter of Hannah Sophia Bezanson and Edmund Hiltz, but I am suspicious given the birth dates of their other children (for which primary sources are available.)⁶ Hannah Sophia Bezanson died on 8 May 1897 at age 83.²
