The author presupposed that Stanley Oliver Bezanson was the person who was commended for his part in a rescue operation when actually it was Stanley Burton Bezanson. They are third cousins once removed, but were not known to each other.¹² Stanley Oliver Bezanson was a old book seller according to the census of 1950.⁹ He died on 15 February 1973 at Needham, Massachusetts, at age 93.^13,14,15 He was buried in Needham Cemetery, Needham, Massachusetts.¹⁶

Melbourne Wesley Bezanson registered for the military service draft on 12 September 1918 while living at Coos County, Oregon.² He registered for the military service draft on 26 April 1942 while living at 1111 East 19th Avenue, Oakland, California.⁶ He died on 13 March 1957 at San Joaquin, California, at age 74.⁴ He was buried in Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, California.⁷

     Henry Cornelius Bezanson was born on 9 July 1884 at Marriott's Cove, Nova Scotia.^1,3,4 He moved to Rimby, Alberta.² He married Hulda (?).¹ Henry Cornelius Bezanson was drafted into the Canadian Expeditionary Force on 2 May 1918 at Calgary, Alberta. He was described as 5ft 9in tall with gray eyes and fair hair.¹ He died on 7 August 1971 at age 87.²

     Seymour Nathan Bezanson was born on 26 October 1886.^3,4 He married Nina Edna Melvin on 17 August 1910. He was 23.^5,6 Seymour Nathan Bezanson died on 1 March 1961 at Bishopville, Nova Scotia, at age 74.^1,7,2 His estate was probated at Kings County, Nova Scotia.⁷
