DOROTHY H. PRESCOTT, 81, of Blackamore Avenue, a teller for Industrial National Bank for 32 years, retiring in 1977, died Tuesday at Steere House in Providence. She was the widow of Jesse H. Prescott Jr.

Born in Woburn, Mass., a daughter of the late Foster S. and Mary L. (Copeland) Bezanson, she moved to Cranston many years ago.

Mrs. Prescott was a member of the 60-Plus Club and of the Cranston and national chapters of the AARP.

She leaves a sister, Grace E. Cedarberg of Hull, Mass.

The funeral and burial will be private.7

(Muriel), West Branch; sisters, Sarah Hamilton, Annie Anderson, Upper Stewiacke; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grand- children.

She was predeceased by her husband, George E. Bezanson; sons, James Freeman, John Edward; daughter, Frances Crowe; sisters, Charlotte Hamilton, Erma McDermott. The remains are resting at her late residence with visitation today 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, in Burns Memorial Presbyterian Church, West Branch, Rev. Lara Scholey officiating assisted by Rev. Lee MacNaughton. Burial in Bethel Cemetery, Scotsburn.2

GREGORY, Catherine "Cassie" - 101, Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, formerly of Lyons Brook, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2004, in Shiretown Nursing Home.

Born in Dalhousie Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret (Lynds) Bezanson. She was a midwife and lumber woods cook for 29 years. She moved to Lyons Brook in 1953.

She is survived by her daughters, Jean Muir, Trenton, and Isabel Cooke, Diamond; sisters, Mary Hiltz, River John; Libby Fraser, New Glasgow; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 14 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gregory was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon Taylor; her second husband, Allan Gregory; sons, James, Elmer and Earl Taylor, and an infant son. She was also predeceased by brothers, George, Dave, William, Raymond and Stewart Bezanson; sister, Annie Holt and grandson, Joe Taylor.

     Mary Jean Bezanson was born on 4 April 1910 at Dalhousie, Nova Scotia.1,2 She married Wade Martin Hiltz on 6 June 1931 at Pictou, Nova Scotia. She was 21. He was 27.4,2 Mary Jean Bezanson died on 3 May 2008 at Willow Lodge Home for Special Care, Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, at age 98.5 She was buried on 6 May 2008 in Mountain Road Cemetery, River John, Nova Scotia.5

HILTZ (Bezanson), Mary Jean - 98, River John, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2008, in Willow Lodge, with her daughter by her side. Mary was born on April 4, 1910, in Dalhousie Mountain, and was the last surviving child of the late Daniel and Margaret (Lynds) Bezanson.

She is survived by her daughter, Anita (Kenneth) Clarke, River John; granddaughters, Kenda Gamble (Glen Breen), Edmonton, Alta; Melody (Peter) Murphy, Saint John, N.B; Leanne (Cory) Cyr, Dartmouth; great-grandchildren, Randy Gamble, India; Nile and Chloe Cyr, Agnes and Leo Murphy; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wade (1966); son, Charles (1984); sisters, Cassie Gregory, Margaret "Libby" Fraser, Annie Holt; brothers, George, William, David, Raymond, Stewart and James.

Visitation will be held today from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. and the funeral will take place on Tuesday, May 6, at 2 p.m., both in St. George's Presbyterian Church, River John. Interment will be in Mountain Road Cemetery.5
