Vendres MacKay was born on 2 April 1943 at Diamond, Nova Scotia.1 She married Fred Bezanson circa 1961.2 Vendres MacKay lived at Scotsburn, Nova Scotia. She died on 10 May 2024 at Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, Nova Scotia, at age 81.1

It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Vendres Catherine Bezanson, age 81 of Plainfield, on May 10, 2024 in the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, where she resided for the last year. Born in Diamond on April 2, 1943, she was a daughter of the late James and Jessie (Tattrie) MacKay.
She was a loving, compassionate, kind and caring person. She enjoyed belonging to the West Branch Singers, volunteering in her community and above all having family and friends stop by for a visit. She has love for all animals, especially her two cats, Garfield and Misty.
She is survived by her sons, Eben (Elizabeth) Bezanson, West Branch; Colin (Stephanie) Bezanson, Cambridge Bay, Nunavut; daughter, Patsy (Chris) Bezanson, West Branch; granddaughters, Morgan, Anna, their mother, Lorelei, and Sara, each holding a special place in her heart; sister, Darlene Murphy, Truro; brothers, Harland and Lyman MacKay, Four Mile Brook; sister-in-law, Phyllis Mitchell, Ontario; special aunt, Ruth Smith and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred in 2011; daughter, Donna; son, James; sisters, Eunice, Lorraine, Mary and Geraldene.
The family would like to thank the staff of Shiretown Nursing Home who provided outstanding care to Mom.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8 PM at McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place Thursday at 2 PM in the West Branch United Church with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.1

Fred Bezanson was also known as Frederick Joseph Bezanson.2 He was born on 22 June 1938 at Pictou, Nova Scotia.3 He married Vendres MacKay circa 1961.3 Fred Bezanson lived in Plainfield, Nova Scotia, on 2 November 2002.1 He died on 26 July 2011 at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, at age 73.3 He was buried in Bethel Cemetery, Scotsburn, Nova Scotia.3

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a loving husband, caring dad and grandfather on July 26, 2011 in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche.
Fred was born in Pictou on June 22, 1938, a son of the late George and Alice Bezanson. He worked as a carpenter, boat builder, and woodsman, along with many other trades.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Vendres; sons, Eben (Liz), West Branch; Colin, Scotsburn; and daughter, Patsy (Stan), Linacy; granddaughters, Morgan and Anna Bezanson, and their mother, Lorelei; sisters: Phyllis Mitchell, London, Ontario; Marie Rae, Truro; Thelma Cloney, Tatamagouche; brother, George (Muriel), West Branch; many nieces and nephews.
Fred was predeceased by daughter, Donna; son, James; sister, Frances; brothers, Stewart, James, and John.
