Obituary from The Pictou Advocate (Pictou, Nova Scotia), 2 March 2023:
BEZANSON, George "Geordie" Alexander - age 91 of Haliburton and formerly of West Branch passed away peacefully on February 28, 2023 in the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche.

George was a son of the late George and Alice Bezanson and was also predeceased by brothers, Fred, John and Jimmy; sisters, Francis, Marie and Thelma; step-son, Delbert Welsh.

He is survived by his wife, Muriel; sister, Phyllis; son, Allan; daughter, Rose; step-daughters, Darlene Heighton (Ronald) and Wanda Crawford (Alan); numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

George had spent many years working for the Department of Transportation. Upon retiring he was very happy that he and Muriel could spend time working the farm. He had 2 main loves of his life, his wife Muriel of 32 years whom he secretly snuck away to marry and his work horses. He proudly went from exhibition to exhibition showing his horses and winning trophies and ribbons along the way. George was a family man and a farmer at heart. Loving his children and grandchildren and relishing every moment that he had with them. Spring was very busy at the farm with new baby animals arriving, having his loyal and trusting farm hand Muriel by his side 24-7 made him both pleased and proud. He and Muriel also loved to go to the old-time dances and the fiddling contests at the exhibitions.

There will be no funeral service by request.1
