Geo. A. Bezanson died at the Veterans' Home Hospital Monday at the age of 72. He enlisted May 12, 1838, and served to October 16, 1898 with Company E. 1st. Texan Volunteer Infantry. He was a member Admiral Camp No. 17, United Spanish War Veterans. Funeral services will be held at the Chapel Friday afternoon, January 6th.6

Born September 21, 1908 in New Haven, son of the late Harry Brown Bezanson and Grace (Hoffman) Bezanson Chapman. Gordon retired in 1973 as a Senior Vice-President after 46 years with the Hartford National Bank & Trust Co.
He was the beloved widower of the late Evelyn (Myers) Bezanson who predeceased him in 1995 after 63 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter, Debra Bezanson Kerner, in 1989.
He is survived by his daughter, Dianne B. Keleher, and her husband Robert, of Torrington; his son, Gordon H. Bezanson, Jr. and his wife Lee of Meredith, NH; eight grandchildren, Tracy Atkins of South Berwick, ME, R Shawn Keleher of Torrington, Edward Ted Keleher of Torrington; Donna Stalley of Vernon, Cynthia Trenholm and her husband Scott of Manchester, Thomas Bezanson and his wife Kathy of Ellington, Brian Fons and his wife Tonya of Auburn, ME and Brett Martin and her husband Joe of Bolton and 17 great grandchildren, Joshua, Kathryn, Taylor, Jared, Sean, Zachary, Samantha, Kirby, Thomas Joe, Kyle, Erica, Julie, Lori, Katya, Dasha, Molly Evelyn and Jack. GLASTONBURY, Conn. — Gordon Hoffman Bezanson, Jr., 80, formerly of Meredith, New Hampshire, died April 12, 2015.
Born Feb. 10, 1935, in Hartford, he was the son of Gordon Hoffman Bezanson Sr. and Evelyn (Myers) Bezanson. Gordon was the beloved widower of Janet “Lee” (Hitchcock) Bezanson. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Debra (Bezanson) Kerner in 1989.
He is survived by his sister, Dianne B. Keleher and her husband, Robert, of Winsted; his children, Donna Chaffin and her husband, Christopher, of Vernon; Cynthia Trenholm and her husband, Scott, of Manchester; Thomas Bezanson and his wife, Kathy, of Ellington; Brian Fons and his wife, Tonya, of Auburn, Maine; Brett Martin and her husband, Joseph, of Bolton; and his adoring grandchildren, Samantha (Stalley) Penoyer (husband Jeff) and Kirby Stalley; Joey (wife Kelly), Kyle and Erica Trenholm; Julie and Lori Bezanson; Katya and Dasha Fons; Molly, Jack and Riley Jane Martin. Gordon is also survived by his niece, Tracy Atkins, and nephews, Shawn and Teddy Keleher.
During the years he lived in Canton he served as Town Treasurer and was active in the Canton Jaycees and Lions Club. Gordon retired from Quodata in 2003 after many years of service and enjoyed volunteering for St. Vincent de Paul while living in New Hampshire. He was happiest on Diamond Island, Lake Winnipesaukee, with family, friends and his dogs, or on a beach in Curacao, with Lee by his side and a drink in his hand.
The family is eternally grateful for the love, care and devotion his healthcare aide, Samantha Gray, provided to Gordon and his family. Samantha was Gordon’s anchor, voice and champion for the past year. The family would also like to express their gratitude to those who went above and beyond while taking part in Gordon’s care.
Calling hours will be at Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton, Connecticut, from 5 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, April 16. Funeral services will be private.2

He was an honorary member of the Sydney Curling Club; Sydney Masonic Lodge 84; member of Eastern Star 51, Dartmouth; St. Andrew's Masonic Lodge 7; Prince of Wales Masonic Lodge, Chapter 10; Cape Breton Preceptory 43; 32nd degree Scottish Rite; Philae Temple of the Shriners; past director of Royal Order of Jesters Court 155 and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 12.
