Peacefully on Sunday, August 3rd at Greenway Retirement Village, Brampton while surrounded by her family in her 93rd year. Melba touched many hearts with her sweetness and kindness. She was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Dearly beloved and cherished wife of the late Percy Zwicker. Loving mother of Robert and his wife Shelley Pickard, Judi and her husband Neil Watson. Cherished Nana of Douglas, Kelly Anne, Jason, Zachary, Cameron, Tiffany, Brayden and Jeremy. Great Nana of Malia, Ariel, Morgan and Owen. He moved to Isaac's Harbour in 1974, where he ran the general store and worked for the Guysborough Housing (Villa) for 20 years. He was a volunteer with the Harbourview Fire Department for 16 years. After retirement, Lewis spent time doing his hobbies, working with wood, fixing his home and doing odd jobs. He will be missed by his wife, the former Florence Chapman; sons, David (Laura), Truro; Wayne (Tina), Minnesota; daughters, Nancy (Mrs. Andrew Peters), England; Susan (Mrs. Ken Peters), Prince Edward Island; sister, Melba Zwicker (late husband Percy), Mississauga, Ont; Ruth (Mrs. Vernon MacWilliam), Cornwall, Ont; brother, Fred (Marilyn), Sedona, Ariz; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Bezanson, Florence "Flo" Edith
Age 91, of Halifax and formerly of Isaac’s Harbour, Guysborough County, passed away in Northwood Care, Halifax, on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Helen (Zwicker) Chapman.
In her younger years Flo worked at Maritime Tel & Tel and then spent 15 years at home raising her family. She returned to work at the Halifax County Hospital where she trained as an Occupational Therapy Aid. She later moved to Isaac’s Harbour where she owned and operated the general store with her husband Lou. She loved doing things for her family and the seniors in her community; she played crib, scrabble, cards and loved to socialize and share a good laugh. Flo loved to read, watch old movies, and listen to music. Flo liked to follow the Oscars and dressed up on the night of the awards. She was also a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Goldboro and a member of the Red Hats.
Flo is survived by sons, David (Laura), Wayne (Tina); daughters, Nancy Peters, Susan (Ken) Peters; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth MacWilliam; brother-in-law, Fred Bezanson, many nieces, nephews and their families.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Lewis; sister-in-law, Melba (Percy) Zwicker; stepsisters, Joyce Shepperd, Catherine Seaman, Phyllis Chapman, Fran Hopper and her stepbrother, Edwin Chapman; brother-in-law, Vernon MacWilliam, sister-in-law, Marilyn Bezanson.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Goldboro Interpretive Centre with Pastor Scott Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in Isaac’s Harbour Cemetery.
