FORTIES - Gordon Ira Reeves, 59, Forties, Lunenburg County, died Monday in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Forties, he was a son of the late Ira and Bertha (Bezanson) Reeves. He was a lifelong resident of Forties. He was a member of Forties Anglican Church and took an active part in church and community affairs. He owned and operated his own trucking business for more than 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Bettylu Russel; two sons, Sean and Gavin, both at home; a daughter, Shelly (Mrs. Glendon Reeves) Forties; a brother, Murray, Forties; a sister, Annie (Mrs. Wayne Brown) Weston; two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce. The body will be in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, New Ross, after 12 noon today. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Forties Anglican Church, Rev. Gordon Neish officiating. Burial will be in Forties Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,donations may be made to Canadian Arthritis Society.

RUSSELL, Gracie Emeline - 91, Grand View Manor, Berwick, formerly of Forest Home, died December 29, 1997, in the manor.

Born in Aaldersville, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late Elizah and Charlotte (Lottie) Bezanson. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Aaldersville; the women's church club, and the Community Club of Blue Mountain.

Surviving are sons, Cecil, Gary, Avery, Forest Home; Percy, Kentville; daughters, Jean Aalders, Billtown, Kings Co; Dorothy (Mrs. Patrick Robinson), Kentville; Alice Aalders, Kentville; brothers, Edgar, Aaldersville; Percy, Blandford, Lunenburg Co; Basil, New Minas; sister, Hilda (Mrs. Barry Ivers), Port Williams; 29 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Benjamin; sons, Robert, Stanley; granddaughters, Christine Russell in infancy, Connie Aalders; brothers, Gordon, Norman; sisters, Bertha, Viola.

Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday, both in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Kentville, Rev. Gordon Neish officiating. Burial in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill.⁵

RUSSELL, Stanley Benjamin - Forest Home, Kings Co., died suddenly Monday, August 4, 1997, at home, four days short of his 92nd birthday.

Born in Aldersville, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Robert and Agnes (DeAdder) Russell. He was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Aldersville. A lifelong farmer, he was well-known for his love of oxen, and had been an active participant in local exhibitions and won numerous trophies and ribbons. He was a former member of the Maritime Ox Association. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, enjoying good health until his passing.

Surviving are his wife, the former Gracie Bezanson; sons, Cecil and wife Shirley, Gary and wife Gwen, Avery and wife Diane, all of Forest Home; Percy and wife Lova, Kentville; daughters, Jean Aalders, Billtown, Kings Co; Dorothy and husband Patrick Robinson, Kentville; Alice Aalders, Kentville; 29 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sons, Stanley in infancy and Robert; granddaughters, Christine Russell in infancy and Connie Aalders; brothers, Leslie, Howard, Otis, Melvin and Warren; sisters, Mable, Elsie, Ida and Edna.

Visitation today from 7-9 p.m., funeral service Thursday at 2 p.m., both in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Kentville, Canon S.J.P. Davies officiating. Burial in Elm Grove Cemetery.¹

RUSSELL, Cecil Freeman

Age 92, of Kentville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at home. Born in Aldersville, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Stanley and Grace (Bezanson) Russell.

He had been employed with Nova Scotia Power for over 20 years and later worked with Goodwear for over 25 years. He helped re-establish the Blue Mountain Community Association and enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage and Skip-bo. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Welton); daughter, Nancy Russell (Ron Mapplebeck); sons, Frank (Judy) Russell, Brian (Bobbie) Russell and John Russell; son-in-law, David Schnare; sisters, Jean Aalders, Dorothy Robinson and Alice Aalders; brothers, Avery (Diane), Percy (Phyllis) and Gary (Heather); 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by daughter, Linda; son, Kirk; daughters-in-law, Cathy and Marg; niece, Connie; brothers, Robert and Stanley Jr.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 3rd, in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4th, Revs. Jack and Audrey Carter officiating. Burial will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill.¹
