FORTIES - Gordon Ira Reeves, 59, Forties, Lunenburg County, died Monday in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Forties, he was a son of the late Ira and Bertha (Bezanson) Reeves. He was a lifelong resident of Forties. He was a member of Forties Anglican Church and took an active part in church and community affairs. He owned and operated his own trucking business for more than 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Bettylu Russel; two sons, Sean and Gavin, both at home; a daughter, Shelly (Mrs. Glendon Reeves) Forties; a brother, Murray, Forties; a sister, Annie (Mrs. Wayne Brown) Weston; two grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce. The body will be in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, New Ross, after 12 noon today. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Forties Anglican Church, Rev. Gordon Neish officiating. Burial will be in Forties Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,donations may be made to Canadian Arthritis Society.

A lifelong farmer, he was well-known for his love of oxen, and had been an active participant in local exhibitions and won numerous trophies and ribbons. He was a former member of the Maritime Ox Association. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, enjoying good health until his passing.

RUSSELL, Cecil Freeman
Age 92, of Kentville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at home. Born in Aldersville, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Stanley and Grace (Bezanson) Russell.
He had been employed with Nova Scotia Power for over 20 years and later worked with Goodwear for over 25 years. He helped re-establish the Blue Mountain Community Association and enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage and Skip-bo. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Welton); daughter, Nancy Russell (Ron Mapplebeck); sons, Frank (Judy) Russell, Brian (Bobbie) Russell and John Russell; son-in-law, David Schnare; sisters, Jean Aalders, Dorothy Robinson and Alice Aalders; brothers, Avery (Diane), Percy (Phyllis) and Gary (Heather); 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by daughter, Linda; son, Kirk; daughters-in-law, Cathy and Marg; niece, Connie; brothers, Robert and Stanley Jr.
