Obituary from The Chronicle-Herald (Halifax, Nova Scotia), 12 October 2019:
Roy William Beals

Age 62 of Wilmot, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Middleton, he was a son of Roy and Pauline (Bezanson) Beals, Nictaux.

Roy was a project manager, foreman, a carpenter for over 45 years, teacher, mentor, an honest man, and friend to many. He devoted his life to his work and was dedicated and loyal to Mid-Valley Construction. He loved that beat-up work truck. He enjoyed working outside, alongside with Patty, he loved his animals, especially their dog "Sundance" and the turkey "Whitey", the many flowers and vegetable gardens, he enjoyed visits from John Osborne and others.

Roy will forever be missed by his loving wife Pat "Patty", his soul-mate, partner, the love of his life, his world, his "engineer" and his "Annie Oakley" as he called her; sisters, Trudy (Bob), Peggy, Cindy, Kathy (Barrie); brothers, Alan (Julie), Terry (Jane), Mark (Tara) and Tim D'Aubin; daughters, Heather, Amber, Erin; and many nieces and nephews. He loved playing marbles and teasing his nieces.

Special thanks to Craig Parsons, Peter and Mike Giffin, Patti Phelan and Wendy Durling, Corey MacLean (Roy and Patti's boy), Warren Ryerson and Joe Felix for all their kindness, time and help also the staff at Valley Regional Hospital for the great care of Roy.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 16th in Kingston Fire Hall. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home.1
