Decorated Vietnam Veteran
A funeral service for Donald "Duffa" A. Bezanson Jr. of Quincy was held Monday at the Deware Funeral Home, 576 Hancock St.
Mr. Bezanson died July 8 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jamaica Plain after a long illness.
A decorated Vietnam veteran, be joined the Marine Corps in December 1965. He served in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner and mechanic and earned the Air Medal, President Unit Commendation, Navy Unit Commendation, Combat Air Crew Citation, and two Republic of Vietnam Meritorius Citations. He was discharged in 1968.
Born in Quincy, he lived in the city most of his life and was a graduate of Quincy High School.
He was a boilermaker in Local 29, Boston.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Williamson) Bezanson; two sons, Robert W. Bezanson and George W. Jones, both of Braintree; a daughter, Colleen Bezanson of Braintree; three sisters, Betty J. Pelletier of Braintree, Wendy J. Bezanson of Quincy, and Tracy Sorno of Rockland; his mother, Betty Bezanson of Braintree; his father, Donald Bezanson Sr. and stepmother, Jean L. Bezanson, both of Rockland.
Burial was in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.4
