Of Lexington, formerly of Belmont and Arlington. Sept. 5, 2019. Beloved son of the late Walter and Gladys (Charlton) Gerrold. Nephew of the late Grace Charlton and P. Beatrice Charlton. Beloved husband of over 70 years to Sidney Gerrold (Getchell). Father of Susan Alsop and her husband William of Littleton, David Gerrold and his wife Donna of Maryland and Jeanne Campbell and her husband William of Wakefield. Grandfather of Amy, David and Nicholas. Great-grandfather of Joseph and Dylan.

At the family's request the Funeral Services will be private.

Mrs. Rachel E. Ferguson, 72, Rites Set

Mrs. Rachel E. Ferguson, widow of Edward W. Ferguson, formerly of 102 Ogden St., city, died at 3 a.nm. today (Oct. 21, 1974) at the United Helpers Home, where she had been a resident since May 29, 1972.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. George N. Sayles, rector, officiating. Burial will be in the Ogdensburg Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Fox Funeral Home of Ogdensburg will be Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon and evening at the convenience of friends.

Surviving are four sons, Donald of Oswegatchie, Edward of Phoenix, Ariz., and Stanley and Gerald, both of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Edward Charlotte) Meurick of Morristown, Mrs. Jacqueline Denny of Gloversville and Doris Ferguson of this city; four sisters, Mrs. Alberta Duggan of Epping, Mass., Mrs. Bessie Sprague of Manchester, N.H., Mrs. Charlotte Adams of Northeast, Pa. and Mrs. Gladys Earl of St. Petersburg, Fla; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Three sons, David, Thomas and Richard, predeceased her. One sister and brother also predeceased her, Mrs. Ida Lauber in May, 1974 and Ernest Bezanson in 1972.

Mrs. Ferguson was born in Boston, Mass., Dec. 18, 1901, daughter of Ruper and Charlotte Bezanson. She attended Black Lake-GalMee rural schools and graduated from Ogdensburg Fee Academy.

She married Edward W. Ferguson Oct. 16, 1919, at Notre Dame Rectory. After their marriage they resided on Lafayette St., city, until [1933?] when they moved to Waddington. They then operated a farm for five years and returned to Ogdensburg in 1944 where they lived on Albany Avenue and later Ogden Street. He predeceased her in 1956.

She moved to the United Helpers Home in 1972.

She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and St. Agnes Society of that church. She was a member and past matron of the Maple City Chapter OES.²

BONITA SPRINGS, FL -- Charlotte Rosemond Mourick, 93, Bonita Springs and summer resident of Morristown, NY died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sat., Jan. 18, 2014. She was stricken at her home just days prior to her death.

Graveside services will be held in Morristown, NY at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Surviving are; her husband of 72 years, Edward John Mourick; 3 daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Judith Ann) Van Arnam, Morristown and Hudson, FL, Mrs. Joseph (Charlene) Ott, Morristown and Estero, FL, Mrs. Jeff (Debra) Mitchell, Minster, OH; 5 sons, James Mourick, Mountain View, MO, Thomas Mourick, Morristown and Bonita Springs, FL, David (Barbara) Mourick, Esq., Bonita Springs, FL, Wayne (Donna) Mourick, Ft. Myers, FL, Gary (Dawn) Mourick, Sykesville, MD; a brother, Gerald “Jerry” Ferguson, Ogdensburg, NY; a sister, Doris Ferguson, Ogdensburg; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.

Predeceasing her was a son, Edward John Mourick, Jr., who died in 1964.

She was born on July 19, 1920, the daughter of Edward Wm. and Rachel Edith Bezanson Ferguson. A graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1938, she was first employed at Rockland State Hospital, Rockland County, NY where she met Edward J. Mourick. The couple married in June 1941 and returned to the Ogdensburg area. Mr. Mourick served in WWII and upon his honorable discharge in 1946 he returned home. The couple purchased Newton’s Lodge on State Route #37, just east of Morristown. They renamed it “The Lodge”. The Mourick’s, along with their 9 children expanded The Lodge from a Texas Hots stand to a full-scale restaurant noted for its Friday Night Fish Fry. The restaurant continued family operation until 1993 when it was sold. Mrs. Mourick continued to enjoy her summers at their camp on the St. Lawrence River.

She was an avid quilter and enjoyed many hand crafts.³
