Born in Sheet Harbour, Halifax Co., on April 9, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Annie (Pye) Bezanson. Dolly was a member of St. Andrews Anglican Church, Watt Section.

She is survived by daughters, Linda (John C.) MacInnis, Sheet Harbour; Joan (Richard) Lawrence, Lakeview; sister, Helen Spears, Sheet Harbour; grandsons, Darrell MacInnis, Fort McMurray, Alta; Carmen MacInnis (Janet LeLievre), Porters Lake; Richard (Linda) MacInnis, Lake Echo; Wayne (Bev) MacInnis, Sheet Harbour; great-grandchildren, Natasha, Tyler, Mallory, Colby, and Ryan.

She was predeceased by husband, Murdock; brothers, Eric and Harold, Cyril in infancy; sister, Trixie Murphy. Cremation has taken place.

Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 20, with family prayers at 7:30 p.m., in D.S. Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Main St., Sheet Harbour. Funeral will be held on Saturday, April 21, at 2 p.m. in St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Watt Section, Rev. Kathleen Knott officiating. Burial in St. Andrew's Church Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Watt Section.1
She was buried on 21 April 2007 in St. Andrew's Anglican Church Cemetery, Watt Section, Nova Scotia.1

SPEARS, Helen Joyce Age 89, of Sheet Harbour, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017, in Harbourview Lodge. Born in Sheet Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Annie (Pye) Bezanson.

Helen was a longtime member of St. Michael’s Anglican Church, Sheet Harbour. In her early years, she cooked in a lumber camp and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, knitting and was a master of jigsaw puzzles.

Survived by sons, Roger (Beverley), Eric (Shirley); daughter, Reta Mckay (Glen); beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Michael, Kelly, Kate (Michael) Frampton; great-grandchildren, Cage, Tori, Madison, Jack and Sam; brother-in-law, Albert Murphy; numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen was predeceased by husband, Arnold; son-in-law, John Jarvis; brothers, Eric, Harold, Cyril in infancy; sisters, Lydia (Dolly) and Trixie.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 7:30 p.m., all in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Hwy. 7, Sheet Harbour. Funeral service will take place Monday, July 31, at 2 p.m. in St. Michael’s Anglican Church, Sheet Harbour; Rev. Lorraine Otto officiating. Burial in St. Andrews Anglican Cemetery, Watt Section. Reception to follow in the Sheet Harbour Lions Center.2

SPEARS, Arnold Richardson - 72, East River, Sheet Harbour, Halifax County, died January 27, 1994, in Sheet Harbour.

Born in Sheet Harbour Passage, Halifax County, he was a son of the late Gordon and Bessie (Helpard) Spears. He was employed with Scott Paper Co., Sheet Harbour for 17 years until its closure in 1971. He was also an employee of Michelin Tire. He was widely known throughout the Eastern Shore for his musical talent and spent countless hours entertaining seniors and young alike. He performed on the Christmas Daddies Telethon; competed in the Maritime Oldtime Fiddling Contest for 10 years; performed for Dalhousie Medical Research and taught music. He was a member of St. Michael's Anglican Church, Sheet Harbour.

He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Bezanson; daughter, Reta (Mrs. John Jarvis), Whitehead, Guysborough County; two sons, Eric, Sheet Harbour; Roger, Regina, Sask; five sisters, Nora Jewers, Helen (Mrs. Russell Levy), Julie (Mrs. Willard Levy), all of Sheet Harbour Passage; Hazel Higgins, Middle Musquodoboit; Bessie (Mrs. Calvin Baker), Windsor; six brothers, Douglas, Porters Lake; Herman, Marie Joseph, Dunlop, Laurie, all of Sheet Harbour Passage; Gordon, Sheet Harbour; four grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Harold, Basil, Howard; two sisters, Edith MacKinnon, and Mae in infancy.

Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday in Crowell's Funeral Home, Sheet Harbour. Funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday in St. Michael's Anglican Church, Rev. Robert Richmond officiating, assisted by Rev. Phil Thibideau. Burial will be in St. Andrews Anglican Cemetery, Watt Section.2

Born in Sheet Harbour, he was the son of the late Roy and Annie (Pye) Bezanson. He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Fairview; the Lodge of St. Mark's, AF&AM; the Fairview Legion and other organizations. He served in the RCAF during the Second World War and later worked with the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation, from where he retired.

Surviving are his wife, Maxine; sisters, Helen Spears, Trixie Murphy, Lydia MacInnis; a number of nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was predeceased by brother, Harold. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Memorial service 2 p.m. today in St. John's Anglican Church, Dutch Village Rd., Rev. Marion Burns officiating. Burial in St. John's Columbarium, Halifax. Reception to follow in the church.4
