BEZANSON, Gordon Parker - 86, Berwick, Kings Co. It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gordon Parker Bezanson on Wednesday, October 18, 2006, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Garland, he was the only son of the late Guilford and Bertha Bezanson.
Gordon is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis, with whom he shared many happy years. She will cherish his memory as she cherished him in life. He will be missed and remembered by his daughter, Joanne Bezanson-Earle and Mark Earle of Prince George, B.C; his son, Peter Gordon Bezanson and Naomi Louis, Nineveh, Lunenburg Co; granddaughters, Beth and Emily Bezanson; stepgrand-daughters, Lisa Baker and Jamie O'Gorman; also his well-loved nieces and nephews and their children with whom he spent many happy occasions during his life. He enjoyed the loving care provided by his niece, Birdie Fiddes, R.N. and Wayne Fiddes.
Gordon spent his youth in Wolfville and other areas with many interesting stories from his childhood. He attended Wolfville High and Acadia University and Nova Scotia Technical College. He served in the Royal Canadian Army. As a professional engineer he worked for Imperial Oil and Defense Research Establishment Atlantic in Dartmouth, where he and Phyllis made their home. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying skiing, camping, fishing, canoeing and gardening. Gordon enjoyed meeting with the "Old Boys" and was involved with community organizations and fundraising, church events, family events and maintained an interest in current events, technology, weather and camping organizations, Hub Campers and High Tide Drifters.
Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by sisters, Myrna (Monty) Kilby and Norma (Whitman) Freeman.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick. No visitation by request. Cremation has taken place and memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, October 23, in Berwick Baptist Church, Berwick, Rev. Murray Shaw officiating, followed by a reception. Private family interment in Berwick Cemetery.2

Born in Port Mouton, Queens Co., she was a daughter of the late Everett B.G. and Cora E. (Cook) Payzant. While living in Dartmouth, Phyllis had been a member of the First Baptist Church, Dartmouth and had been active in the I.W.K. Children’s Hospital Auxiliary. After she and her late husband moved to the Annapolis Valley, she became a member of the Berwick Baptist Church, the Hub Campers Club and had volunteered with the former Western Kings Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Berwick.
Surviving are son, Peter (Naomi Louis), Nineveh, Lunenburg Co; daughter, Joanne (Mark Earle) Bezanson-Earle, Prince George, B.C; grandchildren, Jamie, Lisa, Beth and Emily; great-grandchildren, Franklyn, Amma, Madilyn and Lauren; sister, Eva Telfer, Truro; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon P. Bezanson; brother, Wilfred Payzant; sister, Dorothy Carter. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
