He was born in Tatamagouche and moved inland of Marshville in 1792 to an unsettled tract of land which became known as "Louisville"., named after Jean Louis Langille, the first settler. On February 23, 1815, Georges Joudrey and Jean Louis Langille were granted land at Louisville by the aging King George III.
