Dennis George Bezanson passed away on April 18, 2020 in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire from medical complications.
Dennis was born on May 10, 1947 to Helena and George Bezanson in Los Angeles, California. He was the oldest of his siblings. He grew up playing basketball, football, and jokes on his family members.
After graduating from California State Polytechnic College with a B.S. in Social Science, he joined the United States Army in 1971. As a First Lieutenant in the Army, Dennis served in the Courts and Boards section of HQ Command, Fort Polk, LA, prosecuting 200 special Courts Martial and serving on Administrative Boards regarding discharge. He served until 1975.
Dennis attended the University of Southern California Law School and completed his Juris Doctor in 1975. Dennis practiced law for nearly 40 years. His areas of expertise were business law, corporate reorganization, bankruptcy and research. He taught contract law at Concordia University in Irvine, California. He was a member of the bar in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Florida and California and the First and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He was appointed a bankruptcy trustee in Maine and New Hampshire from 1981 to 1993. He was a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, serving as President and Chairman of the Board from 1991 to 1993.
In 2002, he met his beloved wife Sandra. They were married later that year. Dennis was passionate about his faith, beliefs and family and his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. He read his Bible and prayed daily and loved to share his faith with others.
Dennis enjoyed reading, playing chess, bowling and making black raspberry jam picked from his raspberry patch, with his wife. He worked on his home and in his garden. He loved to play Old Maid with his grandchildren, sticking Nana with the Old Maid. He also volunteered with the Salvation Army to minister to others in need. He was an enthusiastic movie goer and, if possible, would have survived off of popcorn and diet coke.
Dennis is predeceased by his parents, Helen and George Bezanson. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Bezanson, his son, Nicholas Bezanson and wife Nicole, daughter Jennifer Bezanson, son David Charette and his partner Luis Caudillo and his daughter Erica Riddell and her husband Scott. He is also survived by his sister Bonnie Robinson and her husband Charlie, his brother Barry Bezanson and his wife Linda, his brother Richard Bezanson and his wife Robyn, nieces and nephews, his grandchildren Alex, Sophia, Joseph and Lauren and his beloved dog, Maggie.
The Memorial Service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Franklin Pierce Highway, (New Hampshire 9) Barrington, Strafford County, New Hampshire on June 18th at 11:00 a.m.
