Obituary from The Halifax Herald, Online Edition (Halifax, Nova Scotia), 12 January 2015:
BEZANSON (Power), Tanya Lynn

Age 38 of Dartmouth. It is with broken hearts that we, the family of Tanya, announce her passing on January 9th, 2015, after a courageous two-year battle with breast cancer, with her loving family by her side.

Born August 30, 1976, in Sheet Harbour, she attended Duncan MacMillan High School, then went on to achieve a degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in Child and Youth Studies. She worked in child care and Children's Aid. After 10 years of courtship she married her sweetheart Jason in 2004. Once they started their family, Tanya stayed home to raise their children and worked with Jason running the office portion of the family business. Tanya had a bigger than life personality with an amazing sense of humor. She was a very proud Brownie Leader, she loved shopping, going on vacation and spending time with family and friends especially with her husband and children at their cottage in New Chester.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jason; daughter, Miranda (8), and son, Joel (5); mother, Jane Power (Ted); brothers, Ryan and Paul Power; mother and father-in-law, Nina and Gordon Bezanson; sister-in-law, Cheryl Bezanson Phee (Chris); nephews, Christian, Regan; niece, Breanne; brother-in-law, Mervin Bezanson; nephews, Devin, Morgan, Madison Bezanson and niece, Mallory Bezanson; many aunts and uncles.

Tanya was predeceased by her father, David Power; sister, Natasha; brother-in-law, Phillip Bezanson; grandparents, Peter and Doreen MacKinnon and Albert and Margaret Power. We, the family, would like to express our thanks to all who have helped during Tanya's illness, our generous neighbors, family, especially Jane and Nina, the hospital staff, doctors and nurses for their compassionate care and attention. Family visitation was held Sunday, January 11th from 2-4 p.m., public visitation today, Monday, January 12th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with pralyers at 7:30 p.m., all in D. S. Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 No. 7 Highway, Sheet Harbour. Family flowers only. Mass of Christian Burial will be field Tuesday, January 13th at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, Sheet Harbour, Father Francis officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Reception to follow in Mushaboom Fire Hall.1
