     Donald Eugene Bezanson was born on 24 September 1927 at Fraxville, Nova Scotia.1,3 He married Maxine Osborne.1 Donald Eugene Bezanson lived in Cottam, Ontario.4 He died on 14 June 2011 at Hospice Residential Home, Windsor, Ontario, at age 83.3 He was buried on 17 June 2011 in Cottam United Church Cemetery, Cottam, Ontario.3

Born on September 24, 1927 in Fraxville, Nova Scotia and passed away peacefully at Hospice Residential Home on June 14, 2011 at 83 years of age. Beloved husband of Maxine (nee Osborne) with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage. Dear father of Tim, Terry and wife Tracey, Lorie and husband Jim Sleeth, and Barbara and husband Roger Engelhardt. Cherished Papa of Chrissy (Kurtis) Arnold, Lisa (Charles) Zhu, Michelle Bezanson, Joshua and Cassie Sleeth, and Ryan Engelhardt. Dearest brother of Maurice (late Bertha) Bezanson, Leona (late Benny) Bennett, Ida (late Minard) Hiltz, Merlin (late Gwen) Bezanson, Morley (Jeannie) Bezanson, Betty Anderson, and Allister (Helen) Bezanson. Loved brother-in-law of Shirley (late Irwin) Augustine. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Austin and May Bezanson.

Don was a retiree of Chrysler Canada and was a longtime member of the CAW Local # 444. Don was a devoted member of the Cottam United Church.

Don is resting at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) 128 Talbot St. North, Essex on Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Stephen Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Cottam United Church Cemetery.3

     Maxine Osborne was born on 30 July 1930.2 She married Donald Eugene Bezanson.1 Maxine Osborne died on 8 March 2013 at Leamington Hospital, Leamington, Ontario, at age 82.2 She was buried on 12 March 2013 in Cottam United Church Cemetery, Cottam, Ontario.3

Born on July 30, 1930 and passed away peacefully with family at her side at Leamington Hospital on March 8, 2013 at 82 years of age.

Beloved wife of the late Donald (2011) with whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage. Dear mother of Tim, Terry and wife Tracey, Lorie and husband Jim Sleeth, and Barbara and husband Roger Engelhardt. Maxine is resting at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd., Essex on Monday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Kim Gilliland officiating. Interment will follow at Cottam United Church Cemetery.3

BEZANSON, Merlin St. Clair – Age 83, of Bridgewater, formerly of Chester Basin, passed away after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family on January 31, 2015.

Born in Fraxville on October 28, 1931, he was a son of the late Austin and Mae (Barkhouse) Bezanson. Left behind with precious memories are his son, Kevin (Carol) Prospect; daughter, Vicky Yeaton (Brad), Bridgewater; grandchildren, Giselle, Kristin, Kaitlin and Isaac; brothers, Maurice of Morden Mountain; Morley (Jeannie) of Fraxville and sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Anderson of Chester Basin.

Predeceased by his loving wife, Gwendolyn "Jeep" in 2009; brothers, Donald and Allistor; sisters, Leone Bennett and Ida Hiltz.

Merlin was an active member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Chester Basin where he served as a sides man as well as church council for several terms. He was strong in his faith, had a great love for music and was always there to help anyone in need.

There will be no visitation but a public viewing will be held at 1 p.m. February 5 in St. John’s Anglican Church, Chester Basin, where the service will then commence at 2 p.m. Burial will take place after the service in St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery. Immediately following the burial will be a reception in St. John’s Anglican Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Merlin to St. John’s Anglican Church or St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery Fund.

Special thanks to all who visited Dad, especially his sister, Betty, who went to see him every week. Thank you to Charlotte Corkum and Rev. Peter Rafuse for providing communion for Dad. Thank you to all of our friends and family for all the food, kind words and support, especially Holly, Scott and Chelsea, at this difficult time. Also thank you to the staff at South Shore Regional Hospital for making his last days as comfortable as possible and the staff members at Ryan Hall that made it his second home for the last five years.4

BEZANSON, Gwendolyn Janette "Jeep" - 74, Chester Basin, died Monday, December 28, 2009 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

She was born in Lake Ramsey, New Ross, the daughter of the late Lynwood and Samantha (Turner) Turner. She began her career as a Secretary at Brady's Lumber Yard, Bridgewater. She later married and moved to Chester Basin to assist her husband in the family business, Bezansons' Fina. She was a loving wife, cherished mother, grandmother and a friend to all who knew her.

Jeep is survived by her husband Merlin, currently a resident at Mahone Bay Nursing Home; son, Kevin (Carol), Prospect; daughter, Vicky (Bradley Yeaton), Bridgewater; sisters, Fay (Ken) Armsworthy and June Redden, Halifax; brother, Aldon (Mary Ann), New Ross; grandchildren, Giselle and Isaac Bezanson, Kristin and Kaitlin Yeaton.

She was predeceased by brother, Lynwood. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, in St John's Anglican Church, Chester Basin with Rev. Bonnie Baird officiating. Burial will follow in the New Anglican Cemetery, Borgald's Point Road, Chester Basin.2

Al passed into the arms of Jesus on March 31, 2013. He was born in New Ross, Nova Scotia, February 8, 1944 and is survived by his wife Helene, sons Richard (Amanda) and Scott, daughter Lorenda (Mike) Richardson, stepsons Myles (Rene), Brent (Marita) Haase, stepdaughters Susan Haase and Holly (Bill) Stroomer, three brothers in Nova Scotia, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Al served as Core Sergeant Major for Salvation Army Powell River. He will be forever missed.3
