Beverly--Shirley E. (Slate) Richardson, 84, wife of the late Joseph Richardson Jr., died Monday, January 6, 2014, at the Beverly Hospital.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late David and Laura (Besanson) Slate. She was raised in Beverly and received her education in the Beverly school system.

Mrs. Richardson was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Beverly and had enjoyed visiting the North Shore Music Theater to see plays and musicals.

Surviving her are two sons, Joseph Richardson and his fiancée, Rebecca Chase, of Ipswich and Kenneth Richardson of Beverly; five grandchildren, Joshua, Cristie, Kimberly, Jeff and Jesse Richardson and seven great-grandchildren.

ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial Funeral Services will be held at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 1 p.m. Burial will be private. As requested there will be no visiting hours.1

Kuban of Quincy; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Kuban and Jacob Kuban, both of Quincy. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday in Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery. Visiting is 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.6
