2 From Diane Frances Lewis:
My grandmother died before I was born, so everything I know about her is from my mother. She was born in a tiny community near Arichat called Poulamond. She was a Roman Catholic and named after a Saint, Rose of Lima, she had a sister a nun. My grandfather Ralph (it is obvious who he is named after) converted from the Baptist faith to Catholicism. He has a relative a Baptist Minister, who is still alive. Rose worked in the home her whole life and was a wonderful craftspersoon. It was common for Acadian women to hook rugs, do fancy work, make quilts, etc. They were meant for everyday living and not seen as extraordinary. I hung grandma Bezanson's hand made rag rug on my living room wall. She would probably think that was strange and wonder why I don't use it. I love preserving the past and am collecting artifacts and crafts she made. I have her hand made rug hook, etc.4
