Stephen Haines was born on 24 March 1865 at Midville Branch, Nova Scotia.1,2,3 He married Alice Zipporah Langille on 18 June 1893. He was 28. She was 24.4 Stephen Haines married Annie Etta Bezanson on 2 February 1909 at New Germany, Nova Scotia. He was 43. She was 39.5,6 Stephen Haines died on 25 March 1934 at Herman's Island, Nova Scotia, at age 69.7 He was buried in Barss Corner Baptist Cemetery, Barss Corner, Nova Scotia.8

NEW GERMANY, April 2 - The funeral of Stephen Haines, who passed away at Herman's Island recently, was held from the United Baptist Church at Barss' Corner, was conducted by Rev. W. R. MacWalker. Mr Haines was the son of the late Mr and Mrs Edwin Haines and was born at New Canada March 24, 1865, his passing away being on the day following his sixty-ninth birthday. Of this family surviving members are three brothers, Twining of Farmington, Mathew of New Canada, and Allan of Grainsville, New Brunswick; and one sister, Laura, wife of Caleb Arenburg, of Stanburne. At the time of his first marriage to Miss Alice Langille, he took up his residence at Farmington where the family resided for 28 years. Of this union two sons survive: Stuart, New Germany, and Harold, Framington. His second wife, before marriage, Mrs Annie Etta Whittler, of Lynn, Mass., survives, also one son, Waldo, living at Herman's Island.9

Census of 1838 (H.P.) shows 5 children under 14 yrs. A son Gaspar & Hannah d. at H.P. 1843, Feb 17, name not given. Harris lists Otis & David as sons of Gaspar. De speculates that both William (who may have been William Otis) and Mary Ann, not accounted for, are ch. of Gaspar & Hannah, and also that David, as well as Elijah, went to N.B. She was 25.5,6 The 1881 census ages don't agree exactly with this family, but I am reasonably certain it is the same family. Elijah Harris Bezanson died circa 1884.2

Lydia Wiley was also known as Elizabeth Ann Hovey.2 It is not clear whether there were actually two different women, or Lydia Wiley married someone named Hovey before or after marrying Elijah, or what. She was born on 12 May 1825 at Quaco, New Brunswick.1,3,4 She married Elijah Harris Bezanson on 1 June 1850. She was 25.5,6 The 1881 census ages don't agree exactly with this family, but I am reasonably certain it is the same family. Lydia Wiley died on 23 March 1910 at Home for Incurables, Saint John, New Brunswick, at age 84.7,4 The cause of death was Bright's Disease.4 She was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, St. John, New Brunswick.1,3

The death took place at the Home for Incurable at noon to-day of Mts. Lydia A. Bezanson. Mrs. Bezanson was 85 years of age and is survived by five sons and one daughter. The sons are Mr. J. A. Barry, Wabash, Indiana; Mr. C. E. Barry, Grafton, Ohio; Mr. D. S. Benzanson, Marble Mountain, C. B; Mr. B. A. Benzanson, Albany, NY; Mr. Alonzo Benzanson, Halifax, N.S; and Miss Elizabeth Benzanson, of this city.8

William James Bezanson was born circa 1853.3 He married Catherine Mellon at New Brunswick.4 William James Bezanson married Anna Trecartin on 1 June 1881 at Carleton, New Brunswick. She was 23.5,6 William James Bezanson and Anna Trecartin immigrated circa 1886 to USA.6 William James Bezanson died on 19 April 1905 at Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn, New York.7

William J. Bezanson, son of Mrs. Lydia Bezanson, of St. Johns, New Brunswick, died of consumption at the Long Island College Hospital on Wednesday night after an illnes of several months.
Mr. Bezanson was born at St. Johns in 1853 and came to Brooklyn twenty-two years ago. He was a cooper and employed by Trecartin & Turner, of Manhattan. He was a member of the Free Baptist Church, at St. Johns, and the Knights of Pythias.
A widow, Anna L., a mother and one sister, Lizzie, survive him.
Funeral services were held at his late home, 532A Henry Street, yesterday afternoon, Rev. Mr. Moss, of the Strong Place Baptist Church, officiating. Internment was made at Evergreen Cemetery. Undertaker James Cleary, of Union street, had charge of the funeral arrangements.8

David Samuel Bezanson was born on 1 August 1857 at Saint John, New Brunswick.4 He married Annie Helena Farrell on 15 October 1877 at Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He was 20. She was 18.4 David Samuel Bezanson was a cooper at Marble Mountain in 1896.4 He became a widower upon the death of his wife Annie Helena Farrell on 12 January 1917 at Sydney, Nova Scotia.5,4 David Samuel Bezanson was employed by Imperial Oil when he retired in 1927.4 He died on 31 May 1945 at Sydney, Nova Scotia, at age 87.4 He was buried in Hardwood Hill, Sydney.4
