     Fanny Broughton was born between 1877 and 1879.1,2 She married Arthur Tattrie on 18 March 1896 at Acadia Mines, Nova Scotia.3,2 Fanny Broughton died in 1972.2 She was buried in French River Cemetery, French River, Nova Scotia.2 The gravestone transcription of Fanny Broughton and Arthur Tattrie includes "? d 1898, ? d 1909" which I assume refers to two additional children who died young.2 Fanny Broughton went as a Broughton, but her Mom, Christie Ann, had Fannie before she married Sylvanus Broughton. Fannie's father was Joe Tattrie, son of George and Jane (McNutt) Tattrie.

She received many letters and cards from friends, relatives and government officials, honoring her on her birthday.      Garfield Miller was born circa 1918 at Malagash, Nova Scotia.1 He married Theresa Tattrie. Garfield Miller died on 30 May 1998 at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia.1 He was buried on 1 June 1998 in Sunnybrae Cemetery.1

     Death Notice from The Halifax Herald Limited (Halifax, Nova Scotia), 31 May 1998:
MILLER, Garfield - 80, Tatamagouche, died May 30, 1998, in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche.

Born in Malagash, he was a son of the late John and Cassie (Brown) Miller. He was a lumberman for most of his working life and was retired from the Department of Transportation. He enjoyed camping and carpentry.

Surviving are sons, Carmen, Tatamagouche; Byron, Truro; Eric, Tatamagouche; daughter, Arlene DeRosier, Owen Sound, Ont; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Muriel Mattatall, Tatamagouche.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Thressa Tattrie; brothers, Burns, Ben; sisters, Nellie Brander, Ola Tattrie, Elizabeth Hape.

Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Monday, both in Coulters' Funeral Home, Tatamagouche, Rev. Chalmers Hatcher officiating. Burial in Sunnybrae Cemetery.1
