Person who would know his address was his father, Ralph R. Smith.3 He married Barbara Joan Burke on 15 February 1950 at Rutland County, Vermont. He was 27.4,5 Ralph R. Smith Jr. died on 2 January 2010 at age 87.2,6,7 He was buried in Bay Pines National Cemetery, Bay Pines, Florida.7

Ralph Rhodes Smith Jr., 87, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Foxboro, died Jan. 1, 2010. He was the husband of 55 years of the late Barbara Joan (Burke) Smith of Rutland, Vt.
The son of the late Ralph R. Smith, Sr. and Florence Smith, he spent much of his youth in Attleboro,and graduated from Foxboro High School, Class of 1939. He worked briefly at the Foxboro Company and after World War II was employed at the Foxboro Post Office before moving to Florida. During the war, he was an original Taccoa Paratrooper (Curahee) with the 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles), F/501st Parachute Infantry Regiment (Geronimo).
Ralph was a longtime MENSA member, an ordained minister and was retired at the time of his death.
Lifetime memberships included the American Legion Post 128 of Gulfport, Fla., Post 18 of Holiday Isles, Fla., American Legion 125, the 101st Florida Chapter, Clearwater, Fla., and the Mass. State Society Inc. of St. Petersburg, Fla.
He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Leonitti and Beryl Smith of Davis Island, Fla; a son; a daughter, Judi Smith of St. Petersburg, Fla; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Robert Rhodes Smith of St. Petersburg, Fla.
He was buried with full military honors, including a 15 gun salute, in January at the Bay Pines Veterans Memorial Park, Bay Pines, Fla.6
