Edith Tower
RANDOLPH CENTER -- Edith D. Tower, 98, died Thursday at Gifford Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Woburn, Mass., on Sept. 29, 1891, the daughter of Stephen and Catherine (Cummings) Bezanson. She attended Woburn schools and graduated from Woburn High School.
She married Benjamin Tower on Nov. 27, 1913, in Woburn. He died in 1963. She had lived at the Mayo Nursing Home in Northfield, Vt., since 1987, and had lived with her daughter in Randolph Center since moving from Woburn in 1976.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woburn, and in her early years participated in local plays in Woburn, and also recited poetry on stage and at her church. She also enjoyed reading.
She leaves a son, Gordon Tower of Bow, NH; a daughter, Claire Parsons of Randolph Center; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside funeral will be held today at 1pm at Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn.7
She and Ethel Sophia Bezanson were sisters. "Ethel S" and "Edith D" are both with their parents in the 1900 census, and "Ethel D" is also with them in 1910. In 1910, however, Ethel has lost 10 years of age and has a new middle initial. I believe that the Ethel in the 1910 census was actually Edith.1,8RANDOLPH CENTER -- Edith D. Stephen Bezanson1

Father* | Stephen J. Bezanson1 b. Jun 1862, d. 30 Sep 1950 |
Mother* | Katherine Cumming1 b. Jul 1866, d. Feb 1941 |
Relationship | 3rd great-grandson of Jean George Bezanson |
Stephen Bezanson was born in May 1900 at Massachusetts.1 He appeared on the census of 1900 at Hart Place, Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in the household of Stephen J. Bezanson and Katherine Cumming with Osborne Bezanson, Ethel Sophia Bezanson and Edith D. Bezanson.1 Stephen Bezanson and Clifford E. Bezanson may have been the same person. Stephen is shown in the 1900 census as a newborn, but there is no Clifford. In the 1910 census, no Stephen is listed and Clifford is shown as 10 years old. Perhaps there was one child and the parents changed their mind about the name?2,1

Eva C. Bezanson1

Father* | Clifford E. Bezanson2 b. c 1900, d. 14 Dec 1981 |
Mother* | Alice Hall2 b. c 1903, d. 21 Apr 1959 |
Relationship | 4th great-granddaughter of Jean George Bezanson |
Eva C. Bezanson was also known as Dolly Bezanson.3 She was born circa 1923 at Massachusetts.2 She married (?) LaFauci.3 Unsourced records on Ancestry indicate Eva married Frank LaFauci in 1939 and appears on the 1940 census in the home of Frank's parents. Bezansons from Nova Scotia shows a daughter named Dolly married to a LaFauci. Perhaps there were two daughters that married into the LaFauci family. I have assumed that Dolly and Eva are the same person.
