She was 19. He was 25.3,4 Bernice Salisbury died on 25 February 2002 at Harborside Healthcare-Crestwood, Milford, New Hampshire, at age 95.2 She was buried on 28 February 2002 in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon, New Hampshire.2,5

Bernice H. (Salisbury) Bezanson, 95, of Beech Hill Road, Mont Vernon, died Feb. 25, in Harborside Healthcare-Crestwood in Milford.

Her husband, George Bezanson, died in 1971.

Born in Ellsworth, Maine on Dec. 26, 1906, she was the daughter of Herman and Vesta (Tracy) Salisbury.

She leaves two sons, George Bezanson Jr. of Stow, Mass., and Horace Bezanson of Bellows Falls, Vt; four daughters, Gladys Richards of Greenville, Clora Hunter of Stowe, Helen Hoyt of Rindge and Rose Norcross of Winchendon, Mass; five brothers, Lawrence Salisbury and George Salisbury, both of Milford, Irving Salisbury of Henderson, N.Y., Herman Salisbury and Percy Salisbury, both of Lyndeborough; 24 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service was held Feb. 28 in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon. Randy Gary of Milford officiated.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.

Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, Winchendon, was in charge of arrangements.2

     Clora Avalone Bezanson was born on 10 March 1932 at Wilton, New Hampshire.1,2 She married Milton Hunter on 25 June 1952. She was 20.1,2 Clora Avalone Bezanson died on 5 July 2022 at Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, Massachusetts, at age 90.1

LUNENBURG – Clora A. (Bezanson) Hunter, 90, passed away on July 5, 2022, at Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 10, 1932, in Wilton, NH, daughter of the late George and Beatrice (Salisbury) Bezanson. She married her husband, Milton J. Hunter on June 25, 1952, and they enjoyed 36 years of marriage before his passing in 1989.

Clora spent most of her life in Stow, MA where she raised her family and had been a resident of Lunenburg for the past 13 years. She spent her time caring for her children and keeping her home clean. Clora enjoyed watching wildlife and antiquing. She will be remembered as a quiet, private person and an adoring mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Clora is survived by her four children, Donna Hunter of Leominster, MA, Michael Hunter and his wife, Beth of Belchertown, MA, Jack Hunter and his wife, Robin of Marlborough, NH and Thomas Hunter of Lunenburg, MA; six grandchildren, Nathan Hunter, Jack Hunter Jr., Ashley Baltazar, Victoria Smith, Alicia Hunter and Christopher Hunter; thirteen great grandchildren; one brother, Horace Bezanson and his wife, Betty of Hanover, NH; three sisters, Midge Richards of Fitzwilliam, NH, Helen Hoyt of Rindge, NH and Rosie Norcross and her husband, Norman of Wilton, NH; and many nieces, nephews and friends in Stow, MA. In addition to her parents and husband, Clora was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Seth Hunter and her brother George Bezanson.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00PM on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at North Cemetery, Holman Street, Lunenburg, MA 01462.

Horace A. Bezanson, born November 20, 1934, in Mont Vernon, New Hampshire to George Elwood Bezanson and Bernice Harriet Salisbury.

Horace had happy memories of time spent at his grandparents’ farm in Mont Vernon among his large extended family. His passion in life was milking cows, but during his work life he also drove truck, bought and sold cows, and owned several businesses, including Route 5 Citgo in Bellows Falls, Vermont. As a young man, he enjoyed taking flying lessons, playing baseball, and fishing. He always enjoyed the challenge of learning how things worked and fixing anything mechanical. He took great pride in the accomplishments of his family, and he enjoyed the opportunity to travel around the west when his daughter’s family was living there.

Horace was predeceased by his parents, his brother, George Bezanson, and sister, Clora Hunter.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Brooks Bezanson of Lebanon, NH; his daughter, Marcia Calloway (Colin) of Norwich, Vermont; his daughter, Cathy Farman (Steve) of Ira, Vermont; grandson, Dr. Blake Farman (Ann Clifton) of Louisiana; grandson, Dr. Graeme Calloway (Lauren Ayers) of Cambridge, Massachusetts; and granddaughter, Catherine Megan Calloway Maldjian (Sean) of Jersey City, New Jersey; his sisters, Gladys Richards, Helen Hoyt, and Rose Norcross, and many nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will take place at a later date to be announced.

Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, VT has been entrusted with arrangements.5

     Walter J. Katunas was born on 16 March 1919 at Waterbury, Connecticut.3,2 He married Virginia Bezanson circa 1948.1,2 Walter J. Katunas died on 27 April 2000 at Westboro, Massachusetts, at age 81.2

     Obituary from The Telegram and Gazette (Worcester, Massachusetts), 29 April 2000:
WESTBORO -- Walter J. Katunas, 81, of 44 Hundreds Road, a former real estate developer and restaurant owner, died Thursday, April 27, in Westboro.

He leaves his wife of 42 years, Virginia A. "Ginny" (Bezanson) Katunas; a son, Gary J. Katunas of Chicago; and a sister, Frances Powers of Westboro.

He was born in Waterbury, Conn., son of John and Frances (Polubinskas) Katunas, and lived more than 50 years in Westboro. He graduated from Holden High School.

Mr. Katunas was a commercial and residential real estate developer in the area for more than 50 years. He formerly owned Fox Lounge Restaurant. He was a member of the John Warren Lodge of Masons in Hopkinton, and a former member of the Westboro Kiwanis Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He had served on the Westboro Board of Selectmen, and enjoyed boating and fishing.

The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 30, in Rand-Harper Westboro Funeral Home, 62 West Main St. Burial will be private. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 30, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital Fund, Development Office, 100 Charles River Plaza, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114-2792.2
