D.F.C. WINNER ON BIGAMY CHARGE

A former R.A.A.F. fighter pilot who won the D.F.C. was committed for trial at Central Court yesterday on a charge of bigamy.

The pilot, Keith Owen Simes, 28, was also committed for trial on a charge of forging an R.A.A.F. allottee's identification form with intent to defraud.

Betty Rock, 24, domestic, was also committed for trial on a charge of being a party to a bigamous marriage.

A statement produced in court said that Owen married Elsie Marguerite Bezanson, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, while he was in Canada under the Empire training scheme in 1944, and went through a form of marriage with Betty Rock in June, 1947.
