George F Holman was born on 28 May 1919 at Waltham, Massachusetts.2,1 He registered for the military service draft on 16 October 1940 while living at Ashland, Massachusetts, and was described as having light complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, 5ft 10, 140 pounds. Person who would know his address was Mrs Edith Maud Holman.2 He married Gertrude Falls Osborne on 31 August 1941 at Ashland, Massachusetts. He was 22.3,4 George F Holman died on 2 October 1973 at San Francisco, California, at age 54.5 He was buried in Alta Mesa Memorial Park, Palo Alto, California.6

Services were held in Palo Alto, Calif., yesterday for George F. Holman, 54, of Menlo Park, formerly of Framingham and Ashland. He died Tuesday in San Francisco.
He was an auditor at the National Shawmut Bank in Boston before moving to the West Coast some years ago. At the time of his death, he was an auditor at the Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco.
He was born in Waltham. For a number of years he played violin and viola with the Framingham Civic League Orchestra. He also was Sunday School superintendent at Holliston Baptist Church.
Mr. Holman leaves his wife, Gertrude F. (Osbourne); a son, David Holman of Hollister, Calif; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Decker of San Jose, Calif; a sister, Mrs. Muriel Bell of Ashland; a brother, Charles Holman of Hopkinton, and his mother, Mrs. Edith (Gilliatt) Holman of Ashland.5

BELL -- Muriel (Holman), 79, of Ashland, died Friday, June 2, 2000 at the New England Medical Center in Boston after a heart attack. She was the wife of the late William J. Bell who died in 1967, daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Giliiatt) Holman.
Born in Somerville, MA, she was raised in Ashland and graduated with the Class of 1938. She attended the Framingham Business College after high school. She recently retired from the apartment rental business that grew from Bell Homes, Inc., founded by William and Muriel in the early 1940's. Bell Homes built over 70 new homes in Ashland, offering the first new construction in over 100 years. Mrs. Bell was an active member of the Ashland Historical Society, Photographer for the Ashland Directions, Member of the Ashland Women's Club, Theta Phi Deltas, Ashland Historical Commission and the Ashland Federated Church. Her interests included genealogy, photography, travel, and gardening.
Muriel is survived by five children: son William Bell and wife Carolyn of Ashland, and daughters Ruth Cerutti Bell of Meredith, NH, Louise Holzman and husband Donald of Ashland, Lillian "Gaycee" Davis of Phoenix, AZ, and Bonnie Bell and husband Alain Zarembowitch of Gaithersburg, MD. She also had eight grandchildren: Richard Cerutti, Joseph Cerutti and wife Kathleen of New Hampshire, Alexander Bell of New Mexico, Benjamin Bell of Ashland, Felicia and Zachary Holzman of Framingham and Steven and Lisa Davis of Arizona. She is survived by her brother Charles Holman and wife Carolyn of Hopkinton, and many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday morning at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St., ASHLAND, MA with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Ashland, MA. Calling hours Sun evening from 5-8 PM.4
