Obituary from White Family Funeral Home (Kentville, Nova Scotia):
Mary Grace (Bezanson) Faulkner
1954-2026

It is with deep sadness that we, the family of Mary Grace Faulkner (nee Bezanson), share the news of her passing on January 21, 2026, after a brief encounter with cancer.

Mary was born on December 21, 1954, to the late Murray S. Bezanson and Joan (Scott) Bezanson in Berwick, Nova Scotia (publishers and editor of the Berwick Register). She is survived by her second husband John Faulkner; her son Ayden McIsaac, Berwick; her sister, Margaret Bezanson of Toronto (Adela, Gabrielle); and sister-in-law, Jacqueline de Mestral, Halifax (Louise, Alexandre, Andre); as well as eight great-nieces and -nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Mark McIsaac in 2017, and her brother Donald, July 7, 2012.

Mary's childhood was spent in Berwick; she attended Berwick elementary and high school and then West Kings District High School, where she made many life-long friends.

During her life she loved and was devoted to her many pets. In childhood her dog Major, in teen-age years, her horse, Danny. She continued to have pets, dogs, and cats who she dearly loved.

During her childhood she enjoyed spending time at "the shore", at the cottage in Turner's Brook built by her father and later at the beautiful and historic house bought by her parents in Harbourville in the 1960's. She had many happy adventures with her sister, her brother and friends exploring the beaches, woods and paths and roads along the Bay of Fundy shore in the days when children were free to roam wherever they wanted. And also swimming in the frigid Bay of Fundy waters.

She went on to live and work in Halifax for a few years in the 1980's before returning to the Valley where she met and married her first husband, Mark McIsaac, and had their much-loved son, Ayden. Living first in Somerset, Mary, Mark and Ayden then moved to Harbourville to look after her father Murray.

Mary worked as an accountant for numerous firms in the Valley and was also involved keeping meticulous books for the Harbourville Restoration Society and for the Harbourville United Church.

After the death of her first husband, Mary met and married John Faulkner (2021), who had settled in Harbourville after a career with the Coast Guard. Recently Mary and John moved to Berwick.

As a Mother, Aunt, Daughter, Wife, Sister and Friend, Mary was ever caring for, looking after, and helping those fortunate to be in her life. Mary's care for her family required nothing in return, it was a given. In her quiet, always positive way, those close to her could always find the comfort of a good meal and a welcoming home. In this way she shared her love. She will be greatly missed.

In keeping with Mary's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will be held in Berwick Cemetery at a later date.

Rest in Peace, dear Mary.2
