Age 77 of Valley, passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side, on Monday, October 28, 2019. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Wilhelmina (Hiltz) Bezanson.
Alma had been employed as a guide at New Ross Farm for 32 years and picked apples for Scotian Gold at the Kentville Research Station.
She is survived by her husband, Marlyn Spencer; daughter, Jane Salsman; sons, Randy Russell (Idell), Roy Russell (Charlotte) and Alan Russell (Tammy), all of Aldersville; Laurie Russell of Chester Grant; sisters, Elsie Roast (Marshall), North Alton; Lyda Herget (Gary), New Germany/United States; Violet Hatt, New Glasgow; brother, Bill (Linda),Aldersville; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ray Russell; partner, Eugene Hyslop; brothers, Roy and Lloyd; son-in-law, Arnold Salsman; and sisters-in-law, Carol and Fern.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 3rd in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Rev. Virginia DeAdder officiating. A reception will follow. Burial will take place in Saint James Anglican Cemetery, Aldersville, Lunenburg Co. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.4
