BEZANSON, John Edward - 73, Shortts Lake (Brentwood), Colchester Co., died August 8, 1998, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.

Born in Brentwood, he was a son of the late Samuel William and Mary Elizabeth (Bessie)(Whalen) Bezanson. He was a former employee of the Department of Transportation with the No. 1 Paving Plant for over 30 years.

He is survived by sons, John, Onslow Mountain; Roderick, Ajax, Ont; Brian, Bible Hill; daughters, Maxine (Mrs. Robert Carter), Pugwash; Darlene (Mrs. James Kent), Stewiacke; Colleen Fisher, Moncton, N.B; Lila, Bible Hill; brothers, Ervin, Middle Musquodoboit; Douglas, Meaghers Grant; Lorne, Elderbank; Harold, New Glasgow; sisters, Eileen Geldart, Bible Hill; Alma Swinemer, Dartmouth; Vera (Mrs. Leon Carter), Middleboro, Cumberland Co; Frances Innes, Marion Bridge, Cape Breton Co; Joan McNutt, Truro; Karen (Mrs. William (Bill) Grace), Truro Heights; Freda (Mrs. Kenneth Weatherby), Lake Road, Cumberland Co; 15 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Ethel Henry; two sons in infancy; brother, William; sisters, Shirley, Rosamond in infancy.

Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday, both in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, Rev. Morley Bentley officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke.6

He was predeceased by brothers, Lorne, Ervin, William, John; sisters, Eileen, Shirley and Rosamond.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. today in St. Andrew's United Church, Elderbank and a graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in the church cemetery, Rev. Linda Yates officiating.1

He was 24.5 William Thomas Bezanson became a widower upon the death of his wife Annie Gilgun in 1917. William Thomas Bezanson married Lula Hazel Copeland, daughter of John Copeland.6

     Forrest Seaward Bezanson was born on 11 February 1887 at Massachusetts.1,2 According to Bezansons from Nova Scotia, he was a one and a half pound baby, kept alive in a shoe box in the oven.1 He married May Louise Copeland, daughter of John Copeland, circa 1911.1,3 Forrest Seaward Bezanson died on 19 December 1935 at Woburn, Massachusetts, at age 48.4 He was buried in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn, Massachusetts.4

FORREST S.BEZANSON DIED TODAY

Forrest Sesward Bezanson, 48 died early this morning at his home, 21 Eastern Ave, this city following a short ilness.

He was born in Woburn, Mass. February 11, 1887, son of William G. and Rebecca (Taylor) Bezanson. He was educated in Woburn schools and had many friends here.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mary L. (Copeland) Bezanson of this city, and two daughters, the misses Dorothy H. and Grace E. Bezanson of this city.

His Funeral will be held Saturday December 21st. with services at 2 o'clock at the B.A. and C.E. Trip Memorial Home for Funerals, 14 Johnson Street Woburn and interment will be Woodbrook Cemetery, this city, Friends may call at the Memorial Home after 7 P.M. Friday.

Mr. Bezanson was a member of the Paul Revers Lodge of old Fellows in Somervile and of Soley Lodge of Masons in Somerville.4
